Treasury releases carbon tax cost estimates
Posted 14 minutes ago

The Federal Treasury estimates a $30 per tonne carbon price would cost the average household more than $860 per year.

The Treasury modelling has been released under freedom of information (FOI) laws and estimates the cost of living impact of various carbon prices.

It shows electricity and gas prices are likely to be the most affected.

The documents also show the price of petrol would increase by 6 per cent if there are not fuel tax concessions.

The Federal Government has promised to compensate households when the carbon tax is introduced.

Know the enemies of a civil society by their public behaviour, by their fraudulent claim to be liberal-progressive, by their propensity to lie and, above all, by their attachment to authoritarianism.
