As long as they are made to feel good about sticking it to th 'big polluters' (ie the generators of their electricity), they are happy. It satifies their most important political principle: to appear righteous. It's a post-religious displacement.
Do try to keep both hands above the keyboard, Soren... Witty and creative. How do you come up with original stuff like that, day in, day out? ROFPMSL...you mean witty, creative and original like these!? Does he really think the industries won't pass on the price rises to the rest of us ? He's not very smart
Coal, exported, how is the carbon tax from this get past on to Australian Households? The more I think about the bizarre developments of the past coupla days, the more it seems that: -
The Lib caucus have voted for Abbott's delusional 'plan' - to vow to fight (and repeal) the Gillard Govt's Carbon Price/Tax policy - in order to allow him to seal his own fate...
Action Man Abbo has gone into manic overdrive on this issue - as soon as he got a stronger-than-ever whiff of internal opposition over the racist antics of Morrison and himself in the wake of the Xmas Is boat tragedy and funerals...
Not only has he presumed to think and speak on behalf of the revolting people but he has obviously stopped listening to moderate pollies and seasoned political advisors...
Given the folly of opposing the NBN, Flood Levy and Carbon price, they're wise to cast him adrift and give him more than enough carbon and optic fibres to finish himself off...

GREENS MP Adam Bandt says the federal government is wrongly regarding a carbon tax as a cure-all for global warming.
Mr Bandt, the minor party's sole lower house MP, said a carbon price alone would not be enough to address climate change, arguing there needed to be a greater focus on renewable energy.
"A carbon price is not going to be a cure-all," the member for Melbourne told parliament tonight.
"I am less sanguine about the market than the members of the government who seem to believe it will be a cure-all."
