Scared of the Greens?
No, not at all, given it's become increasingly apparent over the past week or so Australians are not interested in this radical watermelon fringe-party being presided over by some idiot stoned with power and too arrogant to see he's committing political suicide, this and wrecking it for any new Green leader hopeful hoping to fill his shoes shortly, as his drug-induced dementia/psychosis is interfering with his capacity to remember what he says even, rendering him vulnerable to all sorts of media pot-shots. The man's embarrassing!
Time greedy pig-headed Bob stepped aside and gave someone else a crack. He said he was retiring before the last election, then changed his mind. Why?
Next he'll be preaching at Hill Song church, instructing greens voters to bop until the penny's drop... if he hasn't already, Bob Brown is a joke, a dangerous joke, but self-limiting none the less given he is in first stages of dementia.
Lets cast our minds back to this...
In August 2010, just prior to the election, Prime Minister Gillard stated to Channel 10 news
"There will be no carbon tax under the government I lead,".These sentiments were also backed prior to the election by Wayne Swan, the treasurer and deputy Prime Minister, also in August 2010, when he said...
"Well, certainly what we rejected is this hysterical allegation that somehow we are moving towards a carbon tax from the Liberals in their advertising. We reject that.". Indeed!
Also, their anti-carbon tax slant seems to have been a long running stance by the Labor party as indicated by a statement made by Penny Wong, the then minister for Climate Change and Water, back in February 2008,
"There is no point in imposing a carbon price domestically which results in emissions and production transferring internationally for no environmental gain,".
Furthermore, various polls in Australia have shown the overwhelming majority of Australians are against the carbon tax, such as the 2GB poll that shows nearly 99% against the tax and the Herald Sun poll that shows over 85% against the tax.
Opposition leader Tony Abbott has called for an election over this issue, and fair enough!!!
On December 30 2010 in France, the a carbon-tax bill was blocked by the French Constitutional Council. It considered the bill included too many exceptions and said they were unconstitutional.
Many countries have come close to imposing this tax, though upon careful scrutiny, have baulked at the last moment, this and or have withdrawn the bill after implementing it due to social disadvantage.

I reckon she'll baulk and withdraw at the last minute...leaving Greens with the baby and looking even more stupid than they already do after having preferenced a labile Labor party prone to inaction, procrastination, stalwarting and breaking promises.
See, this will get Greens out of the loop, Gillards playing devils advocate and is using reverse psychology...the message to at least 80% of voters being, vote Labor, not Green or you will be slapped with a carbon tax.

Seriously, with 85% (at least) against a carbon-tax, how can this not spell the end of Bob Brown and his carbonic hash-pipe dreams?

Look, I never had allot of time for Bob Brown, he was always a bit 'psychedelic'/'radical' for my tastes, but right now, I am feeling a little sorry for him, given he's about to feel Bill Shorten making an orifice there wasn't one before.
Either a phoney Gillard-ALP government has cut it's losses and has decided to call it a day preparing the party for a future Labor leader (minus the Green factor)..who will make his grand entrance when Labor are in opposition, knowing they will finish up possibly before or at the next election, or she is planning a big surprise, this and will theatrically announce her unwillingness to support the Greens push for a carbon-tax after having received feedback off some review panel, this and will hang Bob Brown and the Greens out to dry.
If she is serious about winning the next election, she would not intentionally compromise her chances by caving into the Greens, which is why I'm undecided as to whether she's committing political suicide, knowing it's a killer, or is planning on snuffing the Greens to free-up the leadership for a future contender ie Shorten.
