Why were we funding PNG?

Because Newcrest gold mining has expanded in the region, and much of this aid was being used to keep Australian engineers safe from their natives hostility over our deed in their "Hidden Valley".

As soon as mining operations stopped, Newcrests CEO resigned 5 or say days ago...suddenly Rudd justifies withdrawing Aid and reducing the numbers of Aid workers aka security on over in PNG.

How convenient.

It seems, it's only Aid, when we are aiding ourselves to others resources.

Now in light of Rudds failure to manage federal spending responsibly, Aid and otherwise, both as PM and Foreign Affairs minister, this and is still squandering at the tax payers expense despite having been toppled as PM last year...I call upon Julia Gillard to sack this incompetent Foreign relations minister of hers for having let Australians down, especially the people of Queensland who as a result, have had to bail themselves out of their own natural disaster because this twit had absolute no idea at all.

Though the Rudds just purchased a nice holiday house on Noosa beach, (about their 5th or 6th now I believe)...and thankfully, it's high up off the ground, this and didn't succumb to any flood damage.

Essentially, we are being taxed for this incompetent governments squandering, indulgence and exploitation in the name of greed.

Time they were all sacked!

It doesn't matter what you do in the Labor party, Garrets insulation disaster...Gillards botched school buildings program,  their power brokers being caught buying property the government have insider knowledge about re- resources.....and they still wont sack them.

And to think, Gillard has the audacity to call for other party's ministers resignations?

Perhaps it's time she in her own words, "Sacked rats".

oh I am sure they do make statements like over $200million donated so far..or words to that affect.. but the floods have kind of gone off the radar and so far I havent seen anything on any work being started up there.

having had hour by hour presentations whilst the floods where at their height.. its been silence ever since.all we have talk about is the levy.

was that deliberate do you think.. having seen how quick they change the subject in this govt nothing would surprise.

however its time they come clean and spelt out what they received and what they have done with it so far.we know something like 1400 have been caught out trying to rip it off..

so lets get a bit of an update on how much they have given away so far.. and how much is left? I get tired of reading so much is left of the fundings long after the drama is all forgotton..

did you see where they are getting ready now to pay out millions for the botched pink batts fiasco.. will we ever learn just how much that fiasco cost us????
