What is wrong with Bill Shorten Mellie?
...as I did, as you, see him as the most likely future PM from the Labor side of the house.

The guys a drip, this and has burnt just about everyone who trusted him on his way up.

He is manipulative and convinces others to do his dirty work, the way he instructed Julia Gillard to dethrone Rudd and others.

He's a power-broker with a dark streak, if he appears to like you be worried.

Bill doesn't have friends, he has associates with vested and mutual interests.

He's a go-getter of the worst kind, not a very nice man at all.

And yes, I speak from personal experience, (not much), but enough to see him for what he was prior to him becoming a big kid.

Plenty of people would agree with me on this, he is one of Labors faceless men.

Wouldn't surprise me if he was who instructed Gillard to make a fool of herself, as her losing this election would stand to free up the leadership for himself in readiness for either the 2013/2016 elections.

Afterall, the prospect of electing a leader who's been a secretary for disabilities and children is rather appealing, until you know him better.

Try this for starters.

The guys a dirt-bag.

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/national/mp-dumps-wife-for-g-gs-daughter/s...

And don't take my word for it, just ask all those he's shafted, from both the ALP, the AWU, and even his ex-wife who had no idea their marriage was even on the rocks until he dumped her at a football game.

A real prince Charming.

He's wanted to lead the ALP for years...this and wants a republic.

The man has no class or morals, and doesn't give a stuff about anyone but himself.

Well if a failed relationship is his great crime, I can not be the one to throw the first stone, as I have had one of those, as have very many others.

As far as using people, I would not know about that, but the dirt you suggested is not apparent to me from what you have told me there.

I have little knowledge of him other than the general impression you get when seeing people interviewed or participating in debates or panel shows, and all I have seen of him in those settings was very impressive.
He comes across as articulate, genuine, and intelligent, as well as passionate about his vision for Australia's future, and all of those qualities are admirable.

The man dumped his wife at a football game so she wouldn't make a scene, he was in bed with one of Rudds staffers daughters whom he got pregnant. The guy demonstrates both poor form and moral fibre.

It's not the fact that he's had a failed marriage, it's the way he went about it.

This and who he used in-order to get to where he is today.

His ex-wife's father was a Lib.

Bill shts on anyone in his path to achieve an objective, and the reason he chose to marry this pregnant girl, is because his wife could be paid to shut her gob, whereas not marrying the girl he impregnated would have resulted in more damage to his reputation, (him being of Catholic background). See, having a child out of wedlock this and not tying the knot with her would have rendered him practically unelectable...it was damage control, this is why he unexpectedly dumped his wife at a football game in a public place.

Dirt bag and a coward.i

If what you say is true, Mel, then this makes him a fairly typical male and it has only an indirect bearing on his integrity as a pollie - since all pollies prostitute themselves (and others) to some degree...

At the end of the day, most men seek a sexual outlet of one sort or another - and upwardly-mobile and powerful men even moreso...

Our culture conditions us to favour the unrealistically trim taut and terrific body of a young model. As many men get older, they are prone to trading-in their wives for a younger model - and their successive choices of partners often get relatively younger...

Either way, I'd suggest that you've strayed beyond the extreme boundary of public scrutiny of his poilitical integrity - and ventured well into the realms of libel!

Lamenting the shift in the Australian psyche, away from the egalitarian ideal of the fair-go - and the rise of short-sighted pollies, who worship the 'Growth Fairy' and seek to divide and conquer!

And I will quickly just add...  he was married to his pregnant mistress just in time for the birth.

See, if he can keep his ex-wife's mouth shut, (I don't like his chances with his ex-father in law though) ..presuming he's still alive even, then who will remember Bills past?

Only those who were on the scene when it happened, and if his ex-wife jumps on TV and gives him a little positive PR, then he's in.

Until some of his own decide to get revenge this is... and they will.

Labor hate their tall poppies.

Always have.

It's a dog eat dog party, they are particularly poisonous and the hatred they have for one another is deep ...and particularly caustic.

It's a real vulture culture the ALP have going.

It's not straying beyond the boundaries at all, rather is publicly available information, if you'd care to read it.

Sorry, but I doubt most blokes will agree with you when you say dumping ones wife at a football game for a pregnant mistress for career reasons is fairly typical form for the Australian bloke.

If anything, woman will hate him...so he's gone for starters.

Smiley...So, best you find someone else...yes?

Oh, and good luck with that too.

Well as I said, I am not the morality police, and I try not to judge other people on their sexual behaviour, as we can usually only guess at the emotions involved, and second guessing another persons emotions and motivations is particularly tricky, unless you are purer than Jesus, because he would never advocate doing that.

It's not a matter of what we feel about his past, rather is how this stands to impact on his prospects of becoming Australia's next PM.

And due to him having burnt so many on the way up the ladder, do you honestly think those he's politically assassinated will allow his mercy past slip past the media's attention?

ahahahha

Like I said, good luck.

Actually, he strikes me as someone who is happier to be a power broker than a leader...

He would dearly love to be a Republic Australias first president, but depending on how deep the media delve into his past, this and or how many of his own decide to leak information to the press, will determine whether or not it's worth it.

He's an egotist prone to delusions of grandeur, so it wouldn't surprise me if he goes for it, Billy the kid thinks he's invincible.

I think the media will tear him to pieces.

Cool.....

I doubt too many blokes would take too kindly to being stereotyped in this manner, that's for sure.

Roll Eyes...  Bills wife had not a clue their marriage was even on the rocks, when he dumped her at the footy....to shack up with the ALP football.
