Telecasters are a good all-round guitar.
The original would have been recorded with a Stratocaster though.
The Telecaster seems to have the best defined notes - not sustaining notes too long.
The Gibson SG seems to be adding something that is not there like a reverb unit.
It sounds like a wanna be cheaper guitar.
The Strat is good.
The Les Paul sounds a bit distorted and muddy -
it would be better on other types of rock songs.
Jimmy Page made his Les Paul sound better -
there must be good and bad Les Paul's?
Teles are fantastic guitars.
They can cover all styles of music.
Jazz, rock, blues, metal, country,
etc.
Jimmy Page recorded the guitar solo for "Stairway to Heaven" on a 1959 Fender Tele.
I love 'em, but Strats are still my personal favourite to play.
Never been a fan of the SG.
