Yep, great album, Bobby.

Hard to believe I've had this LP in my collection for half a century now.

Makes me feel really old.

We all had that album except maybe Greggy?

Yes - and we're all getting old.

Greggy might have heard this one?

Alice Cooper Lyrics

"School's Out"

Well, we got no choice
All the girls and boys
Making all that noise
'Cause they found new toys
Well, we can't salute ya
Can't find a flag
If that don't suit ya
That's a drag

School's out for summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces

No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks, yeah

Well, we got no class
And we got no principles
And we got no innocence
We can't even think of a word that rhymes

School's out for summer
School's out forever
My school's been blown to pieces

No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks
Out for summer
Out 'til fall
We might not come back at all

School's out forever
School's out for summer
School's out with fever
School's out completely

Night at the Opera was an adolescent right of passage for rock fans:

It's still played today on the last day of school -
in many schools all over the world - and maybe it will be forever?   Smiley

I still have it.

An original copy from 1975.

And then I saw them live, in 1976, at the Perth Entertainment Centre.

Wow - you lucky devil.   Shocked

Queen performed at the Perth Entertainment Centre on April 11, 1976, as part of their A Night at the Opera Tour.

The concert featured Queen opening for the support band Lucifer (also referred to as Chalice in some accounts).  This event was notable as it marked Queen's first full tour of Australia, following a less successful appearance at the Sunbury Festival in 1974.

Venue: Perth Entertainment Centre, Perth, Western Australia.

Date: Sunday, April 11, 1976.

Tour: A Night at the Opera Tour.

Support Act: Lucifer (or Chalice).

Setlist Highlights:
The band performed tracks from their albums Queen, Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, and A Night at the Opera, including "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Killer Queen," and "Stone Cold Crazy."

The Perth Entertainment Centre, which hosted this concert, was a prominent venue from 1974 until its closure in 2002. It was demolished in 2011 and replaced by RAC Arena.

I only went because my girlfriend liked them.

I was kinda dragged along by her and her friends.

So glad I went now though.

Although I was quite high up in the stands, I did get to see Queen perform live.

The real Queen, that is - with Freddie Mercury.

Not the crap that came later.

They were an extraordinarily talented group.

Pity you didn't have front row seats.   Smiley

Plant was only 20 years old in this song  -  a song before he stuffed his voice up.

No wonder Page gave him the job -
what a voice - wow.

I wonder if Greggy ever played this?

I played mainly in original bands, but I do remember playing that song in Perth pubs when I wore a younger man's clothes.

In particular the High Wycombe, Floreat, and Cloverdale Hotels.

I auditioned for a Deep Purple tribute band.

Didn't get the gig, and can't remember the name of the band.

I did, however, play in a Pink Floyd tribute band called Pink Fraud.

Played about three gigs with them at the Herdsman Hotel - was fun, but not really my thing.

Ah, the memories   Smiley

Another good one from the same album -

The original 1970 track listing for Deep Purple in Rock consists of seven songs:

Speed King
Bloodsucker
Child in Time
Flight of the Rat
Into the Fire
Living Wreck
Hard Lovin' Man
