Several things I learnt from that which have nothing to do with removing distortion, specifically avoiding the use of the wrong microphones in specific situations in the first place. The other demonstrations are impressive but what I can’t get my head around is why so many musicians want their music to be distorted in the first place like young teenagers locking themselves in the bedroom, turning up their crappy ghetto blaser to annoy the hell out of mummy and daddy. Then there’s another kind of ‘distortion’ that drives me insane where left/right & forward/ background sounds is shunted around all over the place. Makes me feel seasick. But hey, that could just be my background in classical music warping my perferences.

If a video based on removing distortion has nothing to do with removing distortion from audio, it would not be titled and discussing removing distortion from audio.

The crispness of audio has improved over the last 30-something years to a point where when a couple of guitarists jam some relatively complicated classical piece of music, it is a relief from the overproduced commercial rubbish we hear where the 'artists' rely too much on autotuning to get qualified for public broadcast.

I cannot remember if I wrote if COB's Laiho and Latvala's guitarists were producing a distorted sound. But having rewatched the video, the sound quality was quite good.

Many 40 year old analogue recordings, especially those made without Dolby noise reduction on high speed reel to reel deck, are as ‘crisp’ as I’d ever want. The same can be accomplished with digital but sadly the power digital manipulation/effects gives musicians too often has disastrous effects.
Doesn’t appear to worry a younger generation raised from the cot with earbuds glued to their heads playing at insane volume. They’re on the way to being deaf, especially in the higher frequencies, before they reach puberty.
