Glad you guys liked John Martyn, he was a giant of the British Folk/Rock scene, and his Solid Air, and Road To Ruin were a couple of my favourite albums of the seventies.
If I go back even further, I suppose I can trace my love of/ fascination with, simple music with just voice and guitar to this clip below, which came on at the end of a "Monkees" TV show when I was about 12 or 13 years old.
It was Tim Buckley, who I never saw again after that one time on the Monkees, until I saw a new album come out in 1972 by a guy named Tim Buckley, which I bought on the chance that it may have been the same guy I had seen just that once a few years earlier.
It was, and the album, Greetings From LA became one of my most played albums, and I had many a passionate night with that playing in the background for inspiration.

(It was like sex on vinyl, lol)
