I'd never heard of the Mansons.

Good Aussie punk:

I've never heard of that one either, but I really enjoyed the song and will follow them up.

I loved the Femmes when I was younger, went off them for a while, but they're growing on me again.

(I loved The Jam - I bought the first 4 albums but didn't bother buying The Gift - they split when they should have.)

Post war Britain was brilliant! A time (by the 60's) of full employment and equal opportunity. It's not often recognised as such but 'the post war accord' was really the high point for socialism. A time when even a conservative Prime Minister could say, with some joy, "you've never had it so good" and the people laughed at him and with him. People laughed a lot in the 60's, Getting rid of racism and sexism was easy. Doctors campaigned for the National Health Service. They'd fought with miners and plumbers and builders labourers and knew them. Knew that they Were a pretty good bunch of blokes who deserved health care. And their kids deserved a good education. There was rent freezes and prices justification tribunals and small friendly shops. There was community.

Then the Conservatives started to get greedy again and by 1979 Thatcher started the destruction of Britain.

So a 'Town called malice' makes me weep and makes me angry, still. Spot on.

Scrotum??  Is this your anarchist, creative wit? Am I going to discuss art with a fvckwit like you? No. I'm afraid you are too stupid to condescend to.

Blown out of the water huh, run along then.  Grin

See what I mean? You are so stupid that you even think that my telling you that you are too stupid is somehow a triumph for your stupidity. You understand nothing, you can articulate nothing that a yllow emoticon couldn't say far better, you have never made an intellectual or aesthetic or moral effort in all your stupid,  grinning, pseudo-anarchist moustashoid, stupid life.

But you wouldn't understand. So carry on, be yourself. That is your limit. We need people like you to remind us of what happens if we stop thinking at the age of 17.

I have given you an hour's worth of well articulated thought that might have given you a chance to glimpse just what a god-awful moron you really are, and what do you do with it? You respond just like the god-awful moron you really are.

Did you just have a bad day, Soren? These lyrics are just for you:
Quote:
God save the queen
The fascist regime
They made you a moron
Potential H-bomb

God save the queen
She ain't no human being
There is no future
In England's dreaming

Don't be told what you want
Don't be told what you need
There's no future, no future,
No future for you

God save the queen
We mean it man
We love our queen
God saves

God save the queen
'Cause tourists are money
And our figurehead
Is not what she seems

Oh God save history
God save your mad parade
Oh Lord God have mercy
All crimes are paid

When there's no future
How can there be sin
We're the flowers in the dustbin
We're the poison in your human machine
We're the future, your future

God save the queen
We mean it man
We love our queen
God saves

God save the queen
We mean it man
And there is no future
In England's dreaming

No future, no future,
No future for you
No future, no future,
No future for me

No future, no future,
No future for you
No future, no future
For you

Funnily enough Muso, it's another Lydon song that comes to mind as the natural follow on to the artistry of a Town called Malice. Funny because I was always more into the Clash.

The Cranberries are coming to Australia early next year with Lenny Kravitz. The crowd in this clip are brilliant.

I watched it too, I do not concur. Roger Scrotum has his own discussion going in philosophy or relationships.

Her's a plug for my favourite Oz band. Smiley
