I don't see anything remarkable about it. Women are now just under the control of advertising execs. political spin etc.
I doubt if they are generally more respected nowadays by the average Joe than before women's lib. Too many women seem to think they must become a man, and that's pretty sad.
The result of women's lib seems to be a bunch of selfish fat assed family breaker tarts in reality, who in their heads, believe they are something out of sex in the city.

Are women more powerful? In some ways yes, in some ways no. They certainly don't use their strengths very well these days.
But why should it matter anyway? As long as the drones keep getting churned out and the worker ants keep working, then all is fine and dandy at the top of the tree.

It's not all that one sided Amadd although there is some truth in what you say. I find it a bit sad that the young men today don't have the same confidence they did 30 years ago before "femininism" became well and truly established.

Today it seems as though our young people are confused as to what role they're meant to play. Females don't understand the benefits, or even know what they are, of being feminine and males have no idea what is expected from them. There is no direction or lead for them to follow and those few men left with some remnants of decency or gentlemanly behaviour receive little appreciation or encouragement.

Lack of fixed roles is a good thing. A bit of confusion is a small price to pay for that. It's like the freed slave wondering what to do now that he has too many choices.

I'm surprised sprint hasn't weighed into this latest debate. I think he might have a lot in common with Amadd.

Nothing has physically changed.

Chilvary is dead, yes indeed. Why? Because on the one hand it may be see as an insult to the "confident" woman, and on the other hand, they don't deserve any special treatment in a world of so-called "equality".
Equality doesn't exist now any more than it did 10 centuries ago.

Unfortunately, the law now dictates that the man must wait around for the woman to make up her mind. Screw that sh!t.

I never knew that this song had so much meaning, but if you listen carefully to the lyrics, it was ahead of it's time.

That is true, but so do men. And why can't women read maps? Maybe it's because we're never given enough time to figure them out.

Equality still doesn't exist - that is true, but chivalry isn't dead, although it's certainly not so obvious today. Chivalry is a natural characteristic of many men, but it has been abused, neglected and ignored. I often see it coming from the most unlikely sources and it's still appreciated by some of us at least.

The laws have changed recently Amadd, but it's not always men who get the worst deal out of a relationship. Some of us females have been stiffed pretty badly too, but I find it easier to let go and walk away even if it does involve a horde of cash and emotions.

I had difficulty understanding the lyrics - but then again I'm a female - but both sexes are susceptible to unhappiness, frustration and abuse if that's any consolation.

I'm not talking about all cases and all circumstances, I'm just talking about a general pattern.
Of course marriages end for a variety of reasons, but it is pretty commonplace for a woman to desire more independence when she reaches a certain age. IMO, this is just natural, however, it's not grounds for divorce.
Both parties are usually the losers in some way, but if a divorce is instigated for no valid reason, then the instigator should walk away with very little or nothing - in a fair system that is.

The song was about too many choices causing a confused society.

huge generalistions there and I have very sharp recall, so who needs a map anyway.. tongue in cheek..? Change your own physical world..dont wait for evolution to catch up with your idea of nirvana or equality...its your life , you only have one

in some ways your right about the equality question..this is so because while there are men out there who feel impotent, as you seem to..this is not equality. Think of it this way..women can only have equality whilst men allow it ,its men who make the laws right? Society revolves around these laws...In this sense we are almost passive onlookers, we have very little say in how these laws are constructed. If it were up to women there would be no wars etc..the world would be a completely different place.

We can all change the status quo in our own world, for our own life. I dont feel down trodden by a man now..as I used to once..I am now in charge of my own life..in many ways it tougher[ financially], but my own sense of personal peace is much improved..btw chivalry is not dead..i have seen it..

First of all you have to believe in lasting love..and that depends on how you define love in the first instance..some pple are love junkies and chase the perfect love constantly, going from one relationship to another..when the first phase of love changes and evolves, they believe they have fallen out of love because they are no longer sexually panting after they're partner, they do not have the maturity to allow the natural phases of love to pass through its natural evolution and settle into the comfortable phase..this mainly applies to men..most women can make these adjustments because they have too..they are usually the main carers for the kids and cannot afford to be that flighty, fickle or irresponsible.

Descibing marriage as "institution" is the best reason I can think of to avoid it like the plague.

Yes I'm sure that you can read a map better GW Bush can read "My pet goat". But it is a generalisation, because that's what I'm doing - generalising. I'm also pointing out what I think is bs about the system. If you don't think that I should be complaining then maybe you should sit down with your kids and enjoy some internet porn together - No sense in complaining about what you can't change you know.

That was my point. Whether or not this figure is correct, I'm not sure. I suspect it's pretty close.
My reasoning is that women have a natural tendency to require more independence after the normal (or historical) child rearing years. I've heard no argument from you or mantra there.
If this is the case, then there is a "general" tendency for men to be set up for a lifetime of slavery and to lose a lot of contact with their kids for doing nothing else other than working their butt off for years on end. I see it a lot, and there has been times where I would've conformed to this system had I not experienced the pitfalls first hand. iii
