Traditionally an assassin would choose an individual victim or small group of victims as specific targets to achieve a specific tusk while a terrorist goes for as large as possible unspecified group to create a havoc.
Mossad has a long history of targetting specific individuals to achieve a specific task, as well as Israels well documented use of WMD on civilians.
Does this mean that Israel is both...terrorists and assasins.
Also the US is known to have made many assasination attempts on Saddam Hussien during the 90's...
On the Hassasin...they can hardly be regarded as a muslim sect, especially considering that at their stronghold at Alamut, under the rule of the famous Hasasin leader Hasan al Sabbah, reading the Quran or practising Quranic law was actually outlawed.
They were actually allied with the templers during the crusades, and did plenty of their dirty work for them.
