Is this discussion differentiating between brothel and street prostitutes? Or is this about prostitution in general. I have no opinion either way as I've never really thought about it. I guess it doesn't bother me too much. However, and I don't want to make light of this serious topic but I am interested and having never solicited one... do they charge GST for their services? Wink

If they are licenced and declare their income they pay the same taxes as everyone else. GST applies to a root.

I find that extraordinary. I hope freediver doesn't read this - he'll be re-coding the software so when you use the word 'tear' it will appear as 'thingy'.

So when you have had a tear and tell us all on the forum about it, it will come out as "Last night my wife wanted a thingy".

I pay GST every quarter. But the ATO are well aware that all is not declared. They'd be numskulls to not realise this. Remember, we don't get annual leave, superannuation, sick pay, danger money, and the cost of a green slip for cabbies who are owners is around $4,000 a year. The cost of a taxi plate ranges between $250,000 - $450,000, depending on where you live.
