Conservatives for Climate and Environment

Just got an email from one of the guys in this group, which seems to be similar to the sustainability party. They are making an effort to be a registered party in time for this coming federal election.

Liberal backers to fight govt on climate

Frustration with the Howard government's climate change policies has driven a group of traditional coalition voters to plan a challenge at the federal election.

The fledgling Conservatives for Climate and Environment (CFCE) is on a membership drive to qualify for registration before the poll is called later this year.

Party members portray themselves as small `l' liberals who are disappointed the government's refusal so far to set greenhouse targets.

Among them are "quite a number of people who have voted Liberal for a long time, myself included, and quite a number of others, who are really quite frustrated by this," CFCE leader Richard McNeall said on Wednesday.
