merou - I entirely agree with 1/2 of what you say, and entirely disagree with the other 1/2.
Guess on average, we ok with each other then ??  Wink

Jesus was really rich. No, he was a jew, so went to church on saturdays  Smiley
All the rest, I agree entirely.
Hey, that makes it about 70/30 in agreeance.

The word religion is used seldomly and mainly associated with "poor" behaviour.
The word spiritual is used LOTS and LOTS. Is what we are.

A man could walk a dog every morning 5.30 am religiously, doesn't do much for his spiritual walk.

freediver - hahhahaha

It's really good how anyone can take a swing at me/christianity/churches/jesus here if they want.
If something can't take/accept criticism, it's weak.
This is more fun too

That is true. I believe religion is backwards.

Me too, Jesus was a vagabon, he owned nothing, he didn't go to church on Sundays and was not a christian a buddhist a jehovas witness or a bloody muslim.
He preached love, respect, forgiveness, he led by example and he lived what he preached. Maybe more people should worry about their own spiritual health and mind their own business about what other people choose to believe.
Religion is a business.

jesus went to synagogue every saturday, he even preached there. he also attended temple when he was in Jerusalem. jesus was the first christian, he was also a jew. Jesus was very worried about everyone else spiritual health and what they believed thats why he spent 3 years of his life preaching...

but you are correct he was not a muslim, or a buddhist and certainly not a jehovas witness Smiley

I was once a child caught up in the evils of a cult as well, it was a really frightening experience.  Believe me, nothing to make jokes about.

There were many pedophiles ingrained in it, and lots of beatings, especially for young children. Severe beatings by big brutal men and women. Some of whom had the job of making the tough leather strips that they used to flog us with.  It really knocks you about to be humiliated in this way in front of a whole class, the pain is secondary, so are the welts that follow.  They even had my parents brainwashed to not only accept this barbaric brutality of their child, but they would punish me as well, for getting into trouble and shaming the family.  One severe beating I got was for drawing on my arm in class.  I imagine these imbeciles would get their sexual jollies from these beatings. They would probably lay in bed at night daydreaming about the beatings and masturbate.

Listening to their religious nonsense was compulsory every day before class, talk about brain washing, the Nazis had nothing on these guys. When they brain-washed you, it was done good and proper.  One of the techniques was to get us to repeat over and over again, the cults creed every morning.

The members that used to teach us were a bunch of freaks, the women would never show their hair, and the men would walk around in ancient style cloaks, but after a while you just see it as normal.

One of the sickest things about this cult was that if you were brainwashed enough to actually dedicate yourself to this freak show, you could never have children, as you were not allowed to have sex, for the rest of your life. I know that is against the most basic law of nature, but that's what these freaks were brainwashed into.  You think I'm making this up, but it is real. No wonder there were so many pedophiles, these freaks were bustin in their pants everyday.

Once a week, we were forced to sit in the truth box and tell one of the freaks our deepest dark thoughts. We were also made to go to different rituals through the week, bizare events, with men running around a sacrificial altar wearing bright colorful dresses and weird ornate hats, bombarding our senses with insense and chants in a language that no one even understood.

Then the weirdest part of all, these monsters would pretend to eat a man's body and drink his blood, right in front of little children.  It was macabre, but intriguing in a funny kind of way, and in the end you just got used to it all and thought it was normal.

Their beliefs about history were so distorted it was unreal, they even tried to tell us that the female head of the cult had a baby, wait for this,  without having sexual intercourse, and guess what, they tell you long enough that you end up believing their putrid crap. Oh and that the male head was infallible, what a joke. You should see the millions of dollars they were and still are reaping, I'm talking huge bucks, their real estate alone must be worth billions just in Australia alone. They are even able to sway government opinion.

It took me years to unravel the mess that these evil creatures left in my mind and heart.  I'm free of them now, but I can tell you that I would never send any of my kids to a Roman Catholic School.

Raydoggy - thanks for your posting .
That's a terrible childhood you had. Unfortunately many had similar experiences, as I am aware.

Obviously violence and humiliation is a bad thing.  forcing anything onto anyone is a bad thing.

Hope you can get over what has been done to you in the past.

I have been thinking of your posting.
Course, many people may think you are "having a go" at christians.
However, what you say has happened.
A cab driver I met years ago had his brother molested at the local catholic school.

Noone needs to be told this is wrong. Let alone one who is supposed to be a "spiritual" guide.
Yet it has happened and as likely does happen recently.

Not that this could help you in any way but those offenders do not follow this code :

"He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. "
Matthew 18:2,3.
"I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them."
Mark 10:15,16.

Instead, the ones you were assualted by were like this :
13"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.[c]
Matthew 23:13
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean.
In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. "
Matthew 23:27,28

If the people who ran these establishments say they did not know it was happening.
They lie or at least they should have done. They were/are the leaders.
Ignorance is no excuse under the law.

So you're saying that religion and cult both mean the same thing and should have the same definition?

So why do we have two words if they both mean the same thing?

So either everyone else is stupid, or you don't get the subtle differences.  Kiss
