It is on the adds on tv , radios and buses. I only need to drink the new drink, drive the new car, wear the new clothes, have a plasma tv or the new big house I deserve. Then I will have it all, friends to play beach football with, longer weekends to go 4WD'ing, if I am a female, will have breasts like balloons, (do us guys get an extra inch or two on our wizzers ?), clean straight white teeth, bronzed buffed looks, lack of bald spots, exciting holidays, glamerous life.
Deceived with the proof of temptation, greed envy overuns me. I spend to obtain my "new" life and be "satisfied". The new purchases give me the flush of excitement, the sales staff help, have funny jokes. But the new car does not give me longer weekends, the drink does not grow my whizzer or make my stomach a 6 pack. The tv shows the same poor tv the old one did.
Disillusioned, my satisfaction gradually wanes. All the while I see new adds. What did I do wrong ? Seeking that exciting thrill of spending, the self importance of it all I borrow this time.
My next door neighbour is still in that rickety long homemade bench in his garden. Eating some of the fruit he picked on the way down there. Huh, look at his old car !
