Wow! Academia is Bullshyte!

A very strange, odd but somehow very fascinating insight into Academia.
Now I've known about this for a few decades - but this take on it is very efficient, informative and personal to the person doing it: Sabine Hossenfelder.

It starts off like a personal whine, especially with the insight of 'sexism' which is pretty awful and exploitive of women in an unfair way. Reminds me of Edison getting all the credit when x50 people worked for peanuts under him and did the hard yards 'science' wise, rather than 'business'.

Then the clip gets into the nitty-gritty and shows how Academia (and I can assure you, this isn't just a German or European problem. It's especially bad in N.America, Australia and Asia - with Australian Uni's being more 'business' centres, than Educational or Academic these days)... is basically just a 'mainstream' priority of business and money making.

Anyway - sit back and be amazed by an authentic personal account about how the Universe of Academia can be like a Black Hole.

Monash University currently has more than 8,300 academic staff members. Seriously?

It's the largest university in Australia, and ranks at #54 in global listings.

Well I'm gobsmacked.
Playing that game, I can see why they go for the money as a 'Business' more than a University. It must be a very expensive game to play to be at that level of existence... as if that is proof that it provides a better quality of 'Education' and Academia??
My guess is that Monash aims for the Chinese and even Indian students en-mass from overseas?
I know Sydney Uni does and it claims 19th position in the world. These overseas students are their gravy train and income via just pumping papers out.

I also remember way back, that this is indeed a major problem of Academia around the world as it is 'dumbing down' real 'ground-breaking' and 'innovative' Academia. A sort of just 'cheap mass production' Academia factory.
Sabine has obviously been a victim of this, but 'smart' enough to be wise to it as well.

What a terrible state the intellectual world is in - a flood of 'nothingness' Academia pouring out everywhere and the enterprise to really seek and discover something 'new', is pushed aside in favour of 'trend', popularity and money.

Unfortunately, what America has become is not a good thing for the world. Such falls and power vacuums in all structures lead to even greater negative consequences and the rise of alternate leaders for other countries to gravitate to and the world populace towards. The huge level of underground support for Russia is yet another example. ANYTHING but what the USA has become.
