Nationals' Perin Davey Drunk in Parliament?
Feb 25th, 2024 at 4:17am

The deputy leader of the Nationals Party has admitted to drinking before
a Senate hearing but maintains she was not drunk and only “stumbled”
over her words during the controversial appearance.

This is a transcript of her little speech...

Quote:
I really thank you for your evidence tonight and I thank you because
I, having sit in this place now for nearly five years, I have seen a
dramatic change.

From when once..... the arts would come in and it would be a..... this is
what we’re saying, you come prepared you know exactly the questions
I’m going to ask about the regionsss and the regionsss are now a topic of
conversation.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said there had been issues “from time to time” in parliament but did not support the introduction of random alcohol and drug testing for politicians and staff.

The whole world knows Australia takes pride in its 'drunk politics'. Australia is a sudsy form of politics, not much different than the Irish effort that gets little respect from other European nations.
Take Bob 'Beer' Hawke and Malcom Fraser for example.

Every Politician in Australia should be drunk on the job - they might actually get things right by fluke.  Cheesy

There are many workplaces that have compulsory alcohol/drug testing as a condition of employment. Parliament should be one of them.
