I drive past schools quite often, many times at around that time with 40km/h signs flashing. Can't help myself, they're everywhere. There was even one 200m down the road until 2022 but it's still the bus exchange. I even used to stop at one very often and walk around, I worked there and my kids attended. I'm sure Peccar avoids them like the plague, probably court imposed.

Australia is turning into a nation of renters:

May 17, 2025

Australian Federal Budget Just CHANGED Property Forever!

The rules of the game just changed — and most Australians have no idea what’s coming.
With a few subtle lines buried deep in this year’s federal budget, the future of Australian housing has quietly been rewritten. This is not a tweak. This is a seismic shift — one that will affect every renter, every homeowner, every investor, and every young Australian still trying to crack into the market.
What looks like policy reform on the surface is actually a roadmap to a completely different housing landscape — one where the middle class gets squeezed harder, foreign investment gets easier, and the rental crisis is locked in for the long term.
Let’s unpack what they are not telling you — and why this budget is the beginning of the end for housing as we know it.

Aussies are leaving Australia:

All the people complaining about immigration and the change in demographics (aka, as Frank would say, the "tinteds") only have themselves to blame.

They've supported policies, from economic models to housing, that enriched themselves and the rest of the boomers, then destroyed the ladder for the generations to follow them making life harder for them and the traditional "aussie dream" unattainable.

This has led to a decline in birthrate, but the economy they shaped needs endless growth to be sustainable, so we need to make up for the shortfall in birthrate by importing people.

This is their fault.

And they turn to the very side of politics that created the mess, expecting them to fix it.

They have no intention of fixing it, it was designed this way.  You supported the design this way.  The free market etc...

You are responsible for this mess and you're only supporting pathways that ultimately make it worse.

If you don't stop moving to the right and simply crying about it, nothing will ever change.

The likes of Frank and Bobbi only have themselves to blame.

Bullshit - it's not our fault.

People returned a Labor Govt to power knowing they will
import millions more people from Africa and the Indian sub continent as well as China.
Our per capita standard of living is in decline -
we have up to a dozen people living in one bedroom flats -
our cities are turning into new Calcutta slums.

The old Australia is gone forever.

Now that would have to be the most empty-headed, baseless, leftist rhetoric filled nonsense you've ever posted.

You and a few others have some weird ideas of how our society functions and about people - most specifically your absolute inability to realise that each person is an individual.

Try addressing MASS immigration ....clearly you are either in a loonie bin and thus are protected from the outside world, or you are a child, or you are overly comfortable in your own life and thus have no need to even begin to comprehend reality.  You - and your ilk - miss every single point of every single issue.

Are you autistic?

Now what kind of total idiot assumes that ordinary folk have this amazing power to control and promote and even 'support' policies of things like 'self-enrichment'?  That kind of utter bullshit is cover for those who actually do push and benefit from that kind of thing - pretending that the ordinary folk - who have next to no power to do any such thing - are creating these things is part of The Madness - and it is just  smokescreens, the same as all the whining from the Usual Suspect 'victims' of our society.

What kind of moron wants to hand control over our society to women, for a start?  The place is falling apart, the majority are descending into Third World gutter status - and idiots play games handing to the State some 'right' to abuse, assault and violate ordinary men (primarily) and turn them into criminals while real crime runs unchecked in the streets; where anyone who objects at an Albo public utterance is 'escorted out' by Neo-Nazi SA thugs; division by race has become 'normal'; where two tier 'policing' has become normal - well - more normal than it ever has been here along the Usual suspect divides, and the effects on this country are disastrous.

And yet YOU allowed the REAL Fascists to be voted back in!

A member of Melbourne’s notorious Apex African gang has been spared jail for an “extremely violent” hammer rampage he committed after being released from immigration detention.

Sudanese refugee criminal Isaac Gatkuoth, 27, was given a two-year community corrections order in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday, and Magistrate Abigail Burchill said she hoped the order would bring him “some peace”, Leader reported.

He pleaded guilty to intentionally damage property, unlawful assault, and without authorised/excuse to enter a private place over the October attack, where he and four others surrounded a home and smashed windows and cars with a hammer. He was already out on bail for handling stolen goods at the time.

Gatkuoth had his visa cancelled in 2016 after being sentenced to 16 months in youth detention for a drug-fuelled carjacking where he pointed a gun at the head of a driver – who was traumatised and went on to commit suicide – and spent six years behind bars awaiting deportation.

He was then released in 2023 along with hundreds of other criminals, including murders, paedophiles and rapists, by the Labor government after the High Court ruled that a “stateless” Rohingya child rapist could not be detained indefinitely.

One of the world’s bravest women’s rights activists and a survivor of Sharia oppression, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, has sparked outrage among Muslim migrants in Australia.

In this explosive Sky News interview, she warned Australians to learn from Europe’s destruction before it’s too late. Her message was clear: Deport all Islamists who refuse to adopt Australian laws, values, and culture.

Why is it controversial to say that people who hate the country they live in shouldn’t be allowed to stay?
Do you agree with her? Yes or No?

You DO understand the difference between Islamics and Islamists, don't you?

I've been explaining it to you - as one trained in such things - for years now...  always good to see that the Dork community always underestimate me.

Your reply doesn’t surprise me. When someone points out the long-term consequences of decades of policy decisions you championed, you retreat into name-calling and faux outrage.

Let’s be clear, immigration isn't occurring in a vacuum. It's a response to the economic and demographic conditions you helped create. For decades, you supported a free-market ideology that offshored our industries, dismantled local manufacturing, and turned public services into for-profit ventures. You cheered it on, thinking short-term gains meant long-term prosperity. But what we got was a hollowed-out economy, increasingly reliant on services and consumption, which, by its nature, demands constant population growth.

At the same time, your generation reaped the rewards of turning housing into a speculative asset. Negative gearing, capital gains discounts, first-home-buyer schemes that inflate prices, all while claiming to care about “the future.”

The result?

Young Australians can’t afford to start families, let alone large ones. Birth rates fall, and the only way to sustain the economy is through immigration.

And now, you want to scapegoat immigrants, especially if they aren't white, as though they’re the root of the problem, instead of a symptom of policies you voted for and continue to support.

That’s not just intellectually dishonest, it’s cowardly. You want all the benefits without any responsibility for the consequences.

You brought the ladder up behind you, and now you’re angry that people need a different way up.

Take some responsibility for the society you helped shape instead of blaming the outcomes on everyone else.

Australia immigration statistics for 2015 was 6,763,663, a 14.97% increase from 2010.
Australia immigration statistics for 2010 was 5,882,980, a 20.6% increase from 2005.
Australia immigration statistics for 2005 was 4,878,030, a 11.21% increase from 2000.
Australia immigration statistics for 2000 was 4,386,250, a 5.61% increase from 1995.

The rate is too high and the source/ mix is wrong - there is no commensurate social, cultural or economic benefit.
