The Greens are puppets
Apr 22nd, 2022 at 7:55am

In 2014, NATO secretary-general Anders Fogh Rasmussen drew attention to Russian disinformation campaigns around energy policy in Europe, stating: “It is one of Russia’s sophisticated information and disinformation campaigns to actively support so-called non-governmental organisations – namely environmental protection organisations that oppose fracking gas – to maintain dependence on importing Russian gas.”

Oil and gas production provides Russia with an estimated 40 per cent of its revenue. And, historically, a rise in oil prices has correlated with Russian aggression against its neighbours. The rationale seems to be that high oil prices enable Russia not only to withstand the impact of sanctions, but also to fund its tanks and missiles. In 2020, the Wilfred Martens Centre for European Studies, a centre-right think tank headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, released a report documenting that the Russian government had transferred at least €82 million to various climate protection organisations that were working to block European natural gas production.

On French television, political scientist Dominique Reynie also reported that Russian state-owned gas corporation Gazprom had funded various environmental NGOs that had advocated for the abandonment of nuclear power. Less nuclear power and gas production inside Europe means increased dependency on Russian gas.

Western Green parties, working relentlessly to cripple their own countries' energy independence, work into the hands of Russia, OPEC, Venezuela and China.
They are the myopic yet shrill useful idiots for the various adversaries of the West.

Attempted manipulation of western Greens by Moscow may or may not be true. However, to stretch the assertion to claim
'They are the myopic yet shrill useful idiots for the various adversaries of the West’
is itself idiocy of the first order.
You’ll have to try harder when attempting to denigrate the Greens.

Admittedly fossil energy exporters like Russia and Oz have much to lose in a transition to a green economy.

But do not fear: the Greens (in Oz) are MMT literate, and will be able to work out how to develop OZ resources  for the nation's benefit in a green economy, despite the loss of fossil exports.

Russia might have a more difficult problem, if it lacks the solar and wind resources comparable to Oz, for example.

Pauline Hanson 🇦🇺
@PaulineHansonOz
Your attitude appalls and disgusts me. When you immigrated to Australia you took every advantage of this country. You took citizenship, bought multiple homes, and a job in a parliament. It’s clear you're not happy, so pack your bags and piss off back to Pakistan. -PH

@MehreenFaruqi

Condolences to those who knew the Queen.

I cannot mourn the leader of a racist empire built on stolen lives, land and wealth of colonised peoples.

We are reminded of the urgency of Treaty with First Nations, justice & reparations for British colonies & becoming a republic

So you ignored the substantive point re economies in transition:

Certainly the gap is related to past events and racist attitudes toward blacks.

Nowhere near as stupid as conservatives who acquiesce in entrenched disadvantage on the basis of obsolete classical economics (and theories of scarcity).

"Condolences to those who knew the Queen"

..very thoughtful, I would say, unlike  conservative monarchy-bootlickers.

For once (or maybe twice?) I agree with Hanson,

Comments made in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s death by Greens
Senator Mehreen Faruqi have been slammed as “insensitive” and “ignorant”.
The Senator's tweet prompted outrage given how soon it was published
after Her Majesty's death.

Speaking to SkyNews.com the Institute of Public Affairs’ Gideon Rozner
said the "unhinged" rant was embarrassing for an Australian Senator.
“Mehreen Faruqi, Adam Bandt and the Greens should give it a rest. Just
take the day off,” he said.  “Mehreen Faruqi’s unhinged and pig-ignorant
contributions would be embarrassing for a second-year arts student, let
alone a federal senator.

Faruqi’s post comes just hours after Greens leader Adam Bandt was
slammed for being “insincere” as he called for a republic.

“Rest In Peace Queen Elizabeth II,” Bandt said.

“Now Australia must move forward.

“We need a Treaty with First Nations people, and we need to become a Republic.”

Just to let you know, I think the ASPI are the worst kind of paranoid, 'patriotic' spooks, so I'm not
convinced by their non-argument that her comments were "unworthy of a 2nd year arts student."

No awareness it might be time to move on from the monarchy.

Indeed, though I think we have more pressing issues to deal with -  like closing the gap, and ending homelessness.

Listening to grown men crying (on radio)  - a Scots dragoon no less - is certainly puke-worthy. Talk about sheep needing a shepherd....

Cheesy Cheesy

Pathetic monomaniac.  Still - Thank you, Mr Fvkkoffski, cloth-eared, foreign muck of a mind venting its vulgar, stupid mania.

imagine, just imagine a political party dedicated to saving the only planet we have to live on?

Now imagine there are other parties and people trying to stop them from saving the planet, trying to perpetuate the very systems and processes that are killing it?

Just image!

Oh dear...the "sheep needing a shepherd' comment obviously unhinged you.

Yes, fawning radio journalists milking the 'mother of the nation' narrative for all its emotional worth, in interviews with the populace, is indicative of the state of humanity....sheep, in fact.

Just to let you know most countries abandoned their monarchies ages ago; and a young Liz Truss herself said monarchy is absurd (she is not one of the sheep).

The Greens are a front for a collective of unserious juvenile Trots and woke progs and poseurs:

Mr Andrews said the rebuilt hospital would be named after the late monarch, “as a mark of respect to her unwavering commitment to healthcare and our community”.

But Indigenous groups and the Greens have attacked the government over the move, claiming it will make Aboriginal Victorians feel “culturally unsafe”.

Unsafe. What a load of complete bollox.

see what your neoliberal orthodoxy, blaming poverty and disadvantage on its victims - who don't understand WHY poverty exits -  does to peoples' thinking?
