Again - we wouldn't need so much "page flipping" in these long threads if a certain antivaxxer kept his BS in his own threads.

We really are doomed, aren't we?

Dr. Berger hits the nail right on the head. Again.

Starting off another reporting week (Victoria only).

https://covidlive.com.au/

3,053 (reported) new cases and 21 new deaths.

Meanwhile, Dr. Noor Bari does an excellent job of explaining the complete load of BS that emerged from National Cabinet yesterday regarding Covid.

https://mobile.twitter.com/NjbBari3/status/1601324397331353601

https://federation.gov.au/national-cabinet/media/2022-12-09-strategic-framework-...

"A ridiculous document". Yes, indeed.

You make it sound like the first season of "The Walking Dead/Fear the Walking Dead". Mum and Dad recovered from a recent bout of coronavirus. Dad would have been the type that would have been sick for quite a while, given his health condition. The virus will dissipate, as it has in the last few months, to become just another disease that has the effectiveness of the sniffles. Even the medical industry will find some other disease to milk for funding in the next few months. Plenty of people are immune to the disease now, through vaccinations or developing antibodies.

242
deaths reported by Covid Live for Australia this week.

https://covidlive.com.au/

34
for Western Australia.

Actually, it's
256
deaths because Covid Live has a few incorrect numbers.

https://twitter.com/BigBadDenis/status/1606162444539244545

Quote:
🇦🇺Australia's weekly COVID numbers - 23 Dec 2022

🔸Deaths - 256 (+23)
🔸Cases - 107,362 (-4,857)

Jurisdiction / cases / deaths
🔹NSW: 38,610 / 78
🔹VIC: 24,238 / 100
🔹QLD: 15,325 / 12
🔹WA: 10,828 / 34
🔹SA: 10,474 / 24
🔹TAS: 4,072 / 6
🔹ACT: 3,184 / 2
🔹NT: 631 / 0

But, I'm sure the only thing we'll hear about on the news (if we hear anything) is that (reported) cases are down by about 5,000 from last week.

Covid deaths reported for Australia last week.

https://covidlive.com.au/archive/20221230

But, no numbers from Queensland, WA and the ACT because they're on holiday or something?

Mind you, Queensland Health still seem to have the time and enough staff to tweet about everything but Covid this week.

https://twitter.com/qldhealth

Hospitalisations and ICU numbers are up again for the States that have reported this week.

And, it didn't take long for the media to 'pounce' on the lower case numbers this week, at least for Victoria.

https://twitter.com/7NewsMelbourne/status/1608730725330874368

"Infectious diseases experts believe the COVID-19 pandemic may finally be coming to an end".

Yes, that would be nice, wouldn't it? Can't see it happening anytime in the forseeable future though (have they looked at what's happening in China?)

No mention of course that the lower numbers for Victoria and the other States is probably due to hardly anyone bothering to get tested over the Christmas/New Year period.

Wonder which part of weekly reporting the Queensland Government is having trouble understanding?

"The next weekly report will be on Friday 13 January 2023"

And...

"living with COVID-19"

Yeah, right. Except for all those who have died (2,405 so far in Queensland) and continue to die from it.

I'll just leave this here.

285
Covid deaths reported for Australia this week.

https://covidlive.com.au/

WA's deaths haven't been added to Covid Live as of the time of this post but we've had 29.

https://twitter.com/MarkMcGowanMP/status/1611224444114178048

Wow.

Meanwhile, the BS in the media continues. This was in today's The West Australian.

"Infectious diseases expert Professor Robert Booy said existing vaccination levels and natural immunity meant the subvariant would not be a major risk to the community."

Really, no more of a risk than the variants that are currently killing 200+ Australians every week? That's a relief.  Roll Eyes

By the way... I've read that a lot of people (including some medical professionals) believe Professor Robert Booy has about as much credibility as Dr. Nick "Welcome to 2022, the year the pandemic ends" Coatsworth.
