What a fraud you are.
Sweeping generalisations are the foundations of national identity.
Y’know how it goes, ‘I am, you are, we are Australian’… Works well, so long as no one tries to specify what it means (something like: ‘I know what time is, but now that you ask me, I don’t’).
The opposite is the likes of Afghanistan where a generalised identity (other than geographical location) hasn’t developed, so the myth of national identity doesn’t exist, hence no central government has the support of the ‘Afghan people’.
Anyway, back to Sirhan Sirhan.
Ultimately it will be sent to the Governor to determine whether he will be released, who must make a political decision and take a political gamble: ‘If I approve Sirhan’s release, will there be a backlash of enough outraged citizens, who will easily be convinced that Sirhan is a terrorist by retrospective appellation, and, by that, label me an anti-American supporter of terrorists?’ (i.e., via applying the standards of today retrospectively).
See how it works, Pastor?
