Some do exist. All? that's another story. If they really have proof surely it would be easy enough for them to supply instead of relying on Anti-bases Campaign.

And so much land and so few bases. Doesn't make it a "GIANT" US military base where some bases are mothballed, some have personnel during training exercises etc.

One thing is for sure,

If someone is as big as the big bad US of A or is getting there, then the big bad US of A has to encircle them these other giants with their military.

Russia with NATO.

And now China is being encircled because they are nearly as big or maybe bigger than the US of A.

The other certain thing to remember is if Russia or China had of tried to encircle the big bad US of A in the same way that they themselves have been encircled then WW3 would already be over.

The big bad US of A would simply just not tolerate such a thing as Russian or Chinese military bases on all sides of her.

My last 2 cents its the big bad US of A that will start WW3 the big question is when.....!?

The USA will not start WW3. It will command surrogates like Australia to provoke an incident that ends in a shooting war.

Whoever is the objective of the USA's military will most likely try to get a first hit in to strike before the USA has had time to strike decisively.

It is probable that the reason that the USA has not already struck China is that it fears the whole of Asia will be in flames if China is not mostly defeated by a USA first strike. The growth of China's military power might mean the USA might never win with a first strike.

China's forces are large and growing which gives the USA reason to doubt that it could defeat China easily.

"China's Military Has Surpassed US in Ships, Missiles and Air Defense, DoD Report Finds. ... "The PRC has the largest navy in the world, with an overall battle force of approximately 350 ships and submarines, including over 130 major surface combatants," the report said."

It is likely that China would decide to overwhelmingly attack US allies in the region not only as a defensive measure but also as a demonstration of military power. It is self-evident that China could not allow USA's allies near China to escape involvement even if they professed they were not involved in any acts of war.
