lots of people play golf dopey .... usually the only ones to play approx 80 days a year are retirees, not those charged with running a country ... especially during a pandemic thats killed over 400 000 of it's citizens

Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), who serves as the president pro tempore of the Senate, will preside over the trial.

As Frank Bowman explained in an article for SCOTUSblog before Trump’s first impeachment trial last year, the Constitution requires the chief justice to preside over an impeachment trial for the president. But Trump, who was impeached on Jan. 13.........is no longer the president.

The Supreme Court had no comment regarding Roberts’ absence from the second impeachment trial.

Chief Justice John Roberts reuses to be associated with what he probably considers the Senate's Partisan SHAM Trial....

It is a sign that the Supreme Court does not consider this SHAM to be at all credible, & in all likelihood they will be confronted with having to rule on the Constitutionality of the US Senate having any Constitutional Power to hold a trial over a non-governmental Official....an ordinary American Citizen.
