That's all very nice, Setanta. It's even possible. After all, few second generation immigrants go on to become politicians without a background of high socio-economic status/class.
But it is hardly evidence of any fraud on Ilhan's part, now is it? The old boy says Ilhan should be deported for being a Muslim.
Are you suggesting she should be deported for her
father's visa application?
I'm hardly an expert on US immigration law, but I hazard that this has never
ever happened. Given they received their asylum in 1996, when Ilhan would have been 14, and they waited in a refugee camp for four years while their application was processed, Ilhan would have been well under the age for applying for her own refugee visa.
This is just prima facie evidence. We're not even raising mitigating factors, doli incapax or Gillick competency. Between the ages of 10 and 14, it would have been legally impossible for Ilhan to apply for a family's asylum without a parent or legal guardian at least authorizing it.
And I seriously doubt a Somali colonel would have trusted an underage daughter with such a task - particularly a
Muselman.
Look, given the impossibility of proving such a farcical claim, would you like to address the question put to you earlier?
Do you share the old boy's view on the forced deportation of US-born Muslims?
I'm sure he's up for any questions you might have on that.
Are you for the law to be followed? A simple yes or no will suffice.
I suggest you listen to all the video has to say. If her father used a false name to enter the US or wrongfully claimed to be a teacher and civilian educator to sidestep the "persecutor bar" should she be shown the door?
