WASHINGTON, D.C. — Federal immigration authorities announced today that Congresswoman Ilhan Omar would be deported from the United States to Dearborn, Michigan.

A Department of Justice investigation had uncovered falsified records used by Omar to illegally gain American citizenship. Upon revoking her citizenship, the DOJ signed off on an immediate deportation order, and Omar was placed on a one-way flight to Dearborn.

"Omar will finally be gone from the country she so deeply despises," announced Border Czar Tom Homan. "We wanted to send her somewhere she would feel more at home, and this saved us about $1,400 on airfare. It's not every day you can carry out an international deportation on a domestic Southwest flight."

The operation briefly stalled when an airline employee tried to argue that Dearborn was located within the United States. Federal officials reportedly advised the employee to visit Dearborn before making any further statements.

Civil rights advocates protested the deportation, stating that it was cruel to send a U.S. Representative to a dangerous third-world country. "In Dearborn, women are not allowed to move about freely or dress how they wish. There is no freedom of speech or religion," said civil rights lawyer Ben Adams. "It is beyond evil to send Omar to such an awful place."

Watchdog clears Omar of misconduct after probe into financial filings

The Office of Congressional Conduct (OCC) “delivered an overwhelming vote to dismiss any allegations against the Congresswoman,” an Omar spokesperson said Wednesday in a statement.

“From day one, we have been clear: the Congresswoman is not a millionaire,” the spokesperson said.

The OCC, an independent bipartisan panel, had launched an investigation into Omar after she submitted financial disclosures last year claiming that assets she owned jointly with her husband were worth between $6 million and $30 million.

The figures marked a sharp increase above those Omar claimed just a year earlier, and they sparked an outcry from Republicans on Capitol Hill who demanded an investigation into the source of Omar’s wealth.

President Trump piled on, accusing Omar of profiting illegally from a multibillion-dollar fraud scheme plaguing Minnesota’s social services programs — allegations Omar strongly denied.

In April, Omar amended her financial disclosures, sharply reducing the value of her claimed assets. She blamed the inflated figures in the initial disclosure on an accounting error.

The filings caught the eye of top Republicans in the Capitol, including Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), who chairs the House Oversight Committee and sought records from Omar’s husband earlier in the year.

Omar, a former Somali refugee and one of the first Muslims to serve in Congress, has long been a target of Republicans. She says the controversy surrounding her finances has been manufactured by Trump and other GOP lawmakers as part of that longer feud. On Wednesday, Omar’s office said the OCC’s dismissal of the case validates that position.

But no. You can't trust a man to do the books. Not only does Ilhan have to submit all her own paperwork to Congress, she has to go over hubby's books too.

When totaling the profits of his businesses, he forgot to subtract his debts. Turns out he was $95K in the black, not $30 mil.

Sheesh, what a mess. Still, somebody should tell DL, eh? In his bank fraud trial, he said signing off on fake figures is standard accounting practice.
