Nobel Peace Prize goes to… not Trump!

I’d hate to be around Trump tonight. Not only did he again get overlooked for the Nobel Peace Prize, it went to a woman - a black woman. I can just see Trump and his petulant dummy spit proclaiming, “it should be me, it’s not fair, I ended 8 wars!”. He really is the ultimate sore loser.

“We concluded that the State of Israel is responsible for the commission of four genocidal acts in Gaza with the specific intent to destroy Palestinians in Gaza, as such,” she declared in a presentation to the UN General Assembly.

She also declared Israel’s president, prime minister and former defence minister had “incited the commission” of genocide.

She currently sits on the International Court of Justice in the case in which Myanmar stands accused of genocide.

A little lesson for them both:

The committee selects individuals or organizations based on Alfred Nobel’s 1895 will, which honors those who have done the most for:
• Fraternity between nations
• The abolition or reduction of standing armies
• The holding and promotion of peace congresses
• Peace-building, human rights, and arms control

It has absolutely nothing to do with popularity.

However, we all know the real reasons Frank is upset about the winner: skin colour and gender.

Obviously I took no part in the deliberations of the committee that made this decision, but I can't imagine they gave Trump any serious consideration for this prestigious award given his deplorable actions over the past two years. His actions are everything the award is not about.

I fully and unequivocally supported Israel after the deplorable attack by Hamas on October 7. But, the actions of Israel since then have gone far beyond what is reasonable or necessary. Israeli settlers are now booting Palestinians from their own homes and laying claim to land that is not theirs while Israel turns a blind eye. I get that Israel lives under constant threat from Hamas, but taking it out on innocent Palestinian civilians is not the answer. Those poor people are just innocent victims stuck between Hamas and Israel. I agree that Israel's actions amount to genocide and Netanyahu does belong in prison for what he has done and continues to do. He's just gone way too far, simple as that.

Yes, eligibility for this award doesn't just include one's actions, but also takes into account one's words. Trump's words have been nothing short of disgraceful.
