Oh, and the issue of getting thousands of dollars per month from Centrelink.

People will believe that all the parasitic, lazy things that might happen in my life would be automatically believable. But, all the constructive, hard working things that I actually do/did could not possibly happen. my opponents have a tall poppy syndrome.

Admittedly, nothing much has happened in my life for the last 4 years. People can criticise me for not doing more in my life until 2 months ago. The French were guilt-tripped into granting citizenship to new migrants from former colonies. The French then allowed more and more migrants into France, as the native French women had fewer and fewer children of their own. The minorities grew in number sizable enough that they started intimidating the French throughout France. So, the French government made concession after concession to appease the minorities. I don't know much about French society. But I would GUESS that France has a varying version of white guilt, compared to Australia. In Australia, we have given in to indigenous Australians' demands over the last 34+ years. France, in the same period of time have given in to migrants and their children, in an attempt to undo the stigma of colonialism.

What migrants everywhere (and, indeed, indigenous Australians) need to realise is that "money does not grow on trees". As has been pointed out to me 6 months ago, I could end up getting old, retiring, and then finding out that I no longer have a pension. I could possibly have to rely on a new welfare assistance in my old age. Otherwise, in 2051, I might have to keep on working somewhere until I die.

I think we might see problems arising even worse in the next 10 years. And maybe France might not be all that desirable by then. Perhaps East Asia will welcome migrants to help cushion their declining population rates.

That is interesting. Because I bet there are plenty of people that go on holidays to nearby (but quite a distance) places that they don't have a great deal of familiarity and get somewhat lost. My own experience two years ago of coming back from Gladstone was one where I did not know which road to drive to get to the Mount Larcom turn off. No phone working (because "****ing Telthstra" decided that an overdue, but paid bill still warranted a barring to the user) to further lead me to getting lost.

What could I have done? Given that the library was closed, and I could not access their computers... and free wifi probably did not work for someone who had a bar on his phone, the only way I was making my way back to the Bruce Hwy would be to ask for directions. And I did... when I got to Dululu.

I dunno, Gnads. I suspect you have travelled a fair bit. But, even you would get lost in a town or city without access to a map or GPS.

Given that I had quit drinking for quite a while, any alcohol consumption before that day (which is probably 2 years ago today), "substance abuse" was not a factor. And I would probably be officially in the army, even with a psychosis condition back in my early 20s. It is good to have a girlfriend that could get her boss to write a medical withdrawal for me. East Timor would not have suited me well, in hindsight.
