"No more beardos" is a phrase used by U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to announce a strict military policy that bans beards and ends most shaving waivers for service members.

Origin of the Phrase

Who said it: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth used the term during a speech to military commanders.

When it happened:
The announcement was made in late 2025 as part of a push to reset military appearance standards.
The message: Hegseth stated that the era of relaxed grooming and
"unprofessional appearance" in the armed forces was over.

What the Policy Means

No beards: All active, guard, and reserve personnel must be clean-shaven.

Waivers ended:
Most medical and religious shaving profiles or exemptions are restricted or phased out.
Special Forces exception: Beards are still permitted only for individuals serving in Special Forces units.

The Reason Behind the Rule
Strict standards: Leaders argued that enforcing small rules like shaving prevents a breakdown of larger discipline.

Uniform look:
The Department of Defense framed the change as a return to traditional military uniformity
and a rejection of individual expression while on duty.

This Pete?

Pete Hegseth paid $50,000 as part of a confidential settlement to a woman who accused him of sexual assault in 2017.

In October 2017, following a speaking engagement at a Republican women's event in Monterey, California, a woman filed a police report accusing Hegseth of sexual assault in a hotel room.

The Monterey Police Department investigated the incident, which included a rape kit exam and documentation of contusions on the woman's right thigh.

The payment and agreement were initially made to head off the threat of a lawsuit.

It's cheaper than a multi million dollar court case.

If he was innocent he would win the case and be awarded costs.

So, why did he pay off a woman accusing him of rape if he's innocent?
