Interest rate hike tomorrow?
Sep 28th, 2026 at 4:17pm

The Reserve Bank of Australia is expected to deliver its fourth interest rate hike for 2026,
potentially pushing the cash rate to its highest level in 15 years.

We're $1 trillion in debt and Albo keeps wasting more money every day.

ScoMo wasted 100s of billions over covid and

Albo wasted 100s of billions more on who knows what ? - rubbish.

Our Govts are printing money and causing inflation.
They do it by creating Govt. bonds and the Reserve bank prints the money to buy them.

The Reserve bank should tell each Govt to go to hell -
we're NOT printing any more money.

Michele Bullock should apologise for printing $1 trillion and causing our inflation problem.

RBA lifts interest rates to highest level in 15 years

By business reporter Gareth Hutchens

The Reserve Bank has lifted interest rates to their highest level in 15 years.

It has increased rates by 0.25 percentage points, which lifts the cash rate target to 4.6 per cent, up from 4.35 per cent.

It will be a blow to home owners with large mortgages. It is also the highest cash rate millions of households have faced since taking on a mortgage after 2011.

But individuals who have high-interest savings accounts will see their savings accruing more interest after today's decision, if their bank applies higher rates to their accounts.

The decision to lift rates was unanimous, with all nine members of the board voting in favour.

Wusses ... it should have been a 1 percent rise.

Crushing inflation must be the aim, rather than just tinkering and achieving nothing.

Accruing more interest at an inflation rate of 3.5%.
More dollars, not so much more purchsing power.

RBA did not literally print $1 trillion in physical cash, but it did electronically create tens of billions of dollars through QE during the C19, while the federal government's total debt approached $1 trillion.

Opposed to the economy being protected during black swans Bobby ?

ScoMo over reacted to Covid but that is only one part of the $1 trillion
that the Reserve bank printed.

Simplified version:

The Govt, issues Govt. Bonds and the Reserve bank prints money to pay for them.
They printed $1 trillion and blame everyone else for the inflation.
