Well, what do you expect? We Australians have multiple parties to choose, minor and major. It is not a "one or the other" democratic system like the United States has. And we Aussies, although we might not like the results of the election sometimes, are not disputing for months (and recently, years) of an election result.

They make documentaries about the election results in the USA. In Australia, we just add another chapter to a book about our elected prime ministers. International observers always call our elections "free and fair".

We're great compared to most......... though that's not saying much.

When the principle of "one person - one vote" is subverted by government itself into - "we can and do command that your vote will be lumped with all others to a failed candidate, and all such votes then moved to someone else as a bloc without your permission" - you are NOT living in a democracy, but rather in a Communo-Fascist state, and your personal vote is arrogated as the property of someone else (your 'better' by virtue of standing for election) and becomes meaningless in the hands of the dictators of this here man's convict colony still gasping to rise above its foundations.

We need a total change in our governance to a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, and AWAY from absolute government over the people by and for special interest groups .... and I don't mean a US style republic by stating those general requirements for true democracy.

The AnAl regime will not be happy about this. More restrictions are required as a matter of urgency!

This is why we should never consider electronic voting.  While the preference system certainly needs overhauling, the vote itself is  counted, recounted and tallied in public on a piece of paper. No chance of any tech fiddling with the result.

KENO.  Electronically run. It picks the least numbers chosen through the system to minimalise payouts.

And what worth is democracy, when they are ruled by neoclassical economists, regardless of who is in powe?

(googole AI)

Recent reports from the OECD confirm that living standards in Australia and New Zealand have suffered some of the sharpest post-pandemic declines among advanced economies, remaining close to their lowest points.

Yes TGD.
That neoclassical is the archaic Westernism from Rome & Athens.
It's a dead end into the past and sadly, the E.U. is holding onto it.
Economy wise, they'll still do ok. But not by political or military ways. Both will cost them.
