It wouldn't be right, Greggery. The US is currently in debt for over $40 tril. DL wants to wait so they can take in a little extra cash, that's all. The $5 grand cheques will cost another $1.3 tril to fund, so DL needs to balance the books a bit.

He is a fiscal conservative, you know. Elon saved $200 mil with DOGE, so another $1.288 tril should be a piece of cake.
