2012, 2013, 2015, 2016: During these annual anniversaries of his presidency, Obama commemorated 9/11 at the White House and the Pentagon in the Washington, D.C. area rather than traveling to New York City.
2014: Obama did visit New York in May 2014 to dedicate the National September 11 Memorial Museum, but for the September 11 anniversary itself that year, he participated in a remembrance ceremony at the White House and Pentagon.

What about O'Bama's third term?
