The chances of having NO measles deaths in the United States are very low. The USA is known for large, crowded cities and a healthcare system that requires insurance to afford treatment.

Today - yes.

However, measles was declared eliminated in the United States in 2000 but thanks to idiot antivaxxers and RFK Jr. it has returned again.

Quote:
The vast majority of people infected in the 21st century were not vaccinated and lived in close-knit communities where the immunization rate is lower than average. There is concern that the WHO may rescind the US's measles elimination status.

The incidence of measles in the United States has reached its highest level in three decades, with 2,371 cases documented in July 2026.

If we have a worldwide Ebola pandemic (which is starting to look more and more likely) then we're screwed. Average 50% death rate, no treatment and no vaccine right now.

I caught the measles back in high school, the week before I went in to hospital. The worst symptom that I copped was the fact that I could not keep a meal down. I lost 5kg inside 2 weeks. Measles was quite common.

Ebola is not going to escape the sub-Saharan regions of Africa. Even African doctors realise how much they need to quarantine the region to prevent a continent wide outbreak. Did you get your concern about Ebola going worldwide from watching "Outbreak"?

How many new arrivals in the USA weren't vaccinated for measles? It depends apparently on the visa class, of course undocumented arrivals don't need one.

Carl is too thick to realise any of that.

He does, however, have a long history of spreading misinformation about vaccines and has used his position to alter vaccination policies that had been scientifically proven to be effective and safe.

And? is he a Doctor? A medical professional? So why would people listen to that?

BTW- Doctors and medical professionals have been known to be wrong. Thalidomide, prescriptions wrong etc.

Frank wrote on Aug 30th, 2026 at 2:13pm:
He has publicly relied on studies linking vaccines to autism to support his policies, despite those exact papers being retracted by medical journals due to severe methodological flaws

"The claim "vaccines do not cause autism" is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism."

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccine-safety/about/autism.html

BTW - Rotovirus can in rare cases cause bowel blockage, needing urgent care.

Actually, the claim that vaccines do not cause autism is heavily supported by an overwhelming body of global, high-quality scientific evidence. Dozens of rigorous epidemiological studies involving millions of children over nearly three decades have consistently found no causal link between autism and vaccines, their schedules, or ingredients like thimerosal and aluminum.

Additionally, people (especially medical professionals who have to follow rules set by Health and Human Services) do listen to him because he holds an important position in the federal government - unfortunately. Some people have no choice but to listen to him and do what he says, lest they may lose their medical licence, for example.

Nobody knows exactly, although the prevailing opinion is genetics. Having said that, doctors and scientists do know with certainty it is not caused by any vaccines.

No. No study can prove a negative. That is why the CDC is cautious. There is a difference between no proof found and "it does not cause autism". Roll Eyes

Ah, then you must have proof of him threatening sanctions against doctors who correctly prescribe. Be specific. Cool

Trump Takes Break From Losing Wars To Help Spread Preventable Diseases

US President Donald Trump has taken a well-earned break from his ongoing efforts to lose wars in the Middle East, announcing a new campaign to help spread a range of preventable diseases among American children.

Trump signed an executive order this week that will implement un-called for changes to the childhood vaccination schedule, including reducing the number of routinely recommended vaccines and unnecessarily separating the MMR vaccine into three individual shots.

It comes after a strenuous five-month stint in which the President has worked tirelessly to weaken America’s military standing, waste billions of dollars and f@#k up everything in Iran.

In a statement, the White House said Trump was excited to switch focus. “Being humiliated by a minor military regime and losing control of a global trade route has been fun, but it’s time to turn our attention to losing control of public health,” the statement said.

Trump posted that what he was proposing had never been done before. “America used to have measles, and then we got rid of it. Very sad. Now we’re bringing it back. Nobody has done that before”.

The President said he was unphased by reports that viruses could cause mass casualties, pointing out that he could just do a deal with measles if required.
