Ausralian Food Regulation

Four corners have just produced 2 episodes of expose into the food industry. For those interested, it is eye-opening. I went in expecting the worst and was utterly gobsmacked.

From tomato products grown in China using slave labour marketed as Australian grown, rodents in your mince and to the utter lies of health ratings .... all is independently forensically tested and found monumentally wanting.

What horrified me the most was chocolate. There is no single way to consume chocolate in this country that pays a living wage to the growers. It is all exploitative. The rainforest alliance stamp on the chocolate we buy is a marketing gimmick. It means nothing at all. Most use child labour.

Same with fresh produce grown in Australia. Migrant workers are paid barely anything and most of that is absorbed before they see it.

The documentaries turned me on to these guys:

https://www.beslaveryfree.com/

On there website they have an idiot proof set of form emails you can send to all relevant MPs to where you live ... just enter your postcode.

Not only that, they have the chocolate scorecard, tells you which companies are doing what. Also provides you with the option of making a donation directly to the farmers to offset your chockie consumption:

Well, what are over-populating plebs for?
They wanna just keep breeding irresponsibly and not take responsibility for their quality of life in their own countries. Rather, they embrace their cheapest of labour to be exploited while whinging to others to give them pay rises and save them.
Peanut 🥜  workers deserve peanuts in payment.
Its their choice.

Don't generalise - most of us are the cream of humanity striving for a viable future for all... I thought you were in psychiatric shock over the Bondi business when one of the favoured teams of over-precious darlings went the rat...

Anyway - the clock is ticking, and this old world has far too many people and the numbers are exploding.. too many different ways.. too many desperate people wanting to come to the West where the pickings are richer and easier... and too many stupid governments and people wanting to bring them here to reduce our civilisation down to the same level so the 'better classes' can prosper mightily while the peasants die in the snow outside.  It's the same here as everywhere, which is why We, The People, must gain control over the True Fascists of the progressive kind who are romping it in at the moment.

Who but the 'progressives' march in the streets, burn statues (figuratively), threaten and intimidate and even bash in every way at various times, blocks streets and bridges and so forth, and all the while their elected via a false path politicians assume the mantle of absolute power in the true Stalinist mold over all they can see, and go so far as to make 'ministerial decisions' about what a piece of law actually means, and alter it without notice to suit some 'narrative' handed to them by tame 'advisors'.

Get a grip on human nature.

There will always be poor countries with an exploited population and there will always be thieves who exploit any industry with rat meat etc - neither you nor I has the answer to that... and the 'plight' of the 'slave workers' in agriculture has been under address for years and yet the fabled Labor movement seems incapable of handling it in between posturing from their golden seats in Unions and governments .... and posturing isn't going to change anything, let alone throwing curly words at your fellow countrypersons who simply want to secure the lifeboat.

Progressives - saving the world one genocide at a time.... split everyone up by some  set of 'identities' - then they came for the straight white men... and you said nothing... and the collapse began - Die Untergang..

Sinn Fein - how long must I put out the call.. Ourselves Alone...  where do YOU plan to put the vast overflow from the dying world outside?  Your backyard or granny flat?  Make a good base for their nightly machete forays and gang beatings of old shop keepers while the 'progressives' cry about how badly they are treated under macheteophobia ....

Classical mothra pwogwessive non-response - can't handle any debate - must turn to insinuation.

I thought Bondi had lead to your mental collapse - the stark revelation about poor widdle Mussos leeching into the soft underbelly of the West ...... maybe it was just fear of being caught out as an Islamophile ... like Haemophilia, Islamophilia works against the life blood of the West... and it has many progressive cousins....

I will watch these soon once I get a chance.
But yeah, it’s any wonder I’ve been so fanatical about buying locally grown produce and I don’t care at what cost. I’m willing to pay because it’s less money spent on ill health later.
I just had a box of organic stuff delivered yesterday. While I was rinsing the bokchoy a slug emerged. I said to visiting daughter, see how organic it is, the wiggly one is alive and well.
She said don’t kill the worm, put it out in the garden, I told her it’s slug, they are not nice, eat crops etc.

What I also do, is give my cash to fb advertised people selling their organic non sprayed persimmons grown on their own tree or chillies or quinces etc.
That’s how we help and reward others.

I buy eggs that come from Kangaroo island SA from IGA for $15 dozen. Ouch I know!
I have ordered their honey online too. Amazing.

Seek and we shall find.

I’m disgusted there are still caged hen eggs!
I have not supported this for decades!
More people should just pay the extra $2 or so for free range to stop this!

Years ago, I recall IGA had a booklet out to inform us of Australian made and grown products but this information seems to have disappeared!

Fish: I always look for Australian but gosh it’s so darn pricey!
Chicken: has to be Australian and free range and no hormones!
Meat: I have found a butcher that has free range hormone free grass fed meat! Buy dang pricey again!
Milk: again premium price for Aussie cows and organic at that, I pay about $6.50 or more for 2 litres.
But the strangest observation I have found recently. I can’t find labelled “organic milk” anymore. I’ve been meaning to ask why. I will soon!

It takes an effort to do all this, but it’s a habit I’ve done for decades and it has been instilled into my son and daughter!

About honey. I ran out of local honey and bought what I thought was Australian honey from the supermarket shelf. To my horror, hubby read it’s only 10% Australian product!
Any wonder I hate shopping at supermarkets.

Again on fb marketplace you can source local honey growers. I usually get 1 kg tub for $20

Any wonder I’m tired after shopping for less toxic food!
Then I have to cook it all, but not with Teflon!!!

Unfortunately not surprising. Nothing has changed and nothing will change unless governments are forced to lift standards and prosecute.

Well done ABC Four Corners.
