They overturned Roe v. Wade and celebrated taking away a constitutional protection women had relied on for nearly 50 years.
So where is the paid maternity leave? Where is universal prenatal care? Where is affordable childcare? Where is the guarantee that a woman forced to carry a pregnancy can afford to feed, house, insure, and care for that child afterward?
They attacked public education, cut education programs, demonized teachers, targeted the Department of Education, and told you they were “saving” your children.
Are your kids getting a better education now? Are classrooms smaller? Are teachers paid better? Are schools safer? Are special education services stronger? Or did they just give you another culture war while public schools were left fighting for resources?
They spent YEARS obsessing over transgender people.
Did attacking trans kids lower your taxes? Did banning trans people from bathrooms make your neighborhood safer? Did it put food on your table?
More importantly, did any of that outrage make them release everything the government legally can about Jeffrey Epstein and aggressively pursue prosecutable evidence against anyone who abused or trafficked minors?
Funny how they can find endless political energy to investigate someone’s gender, but transparency and accountability involving powerful people suddenly becomes complicated.
They told you tariffs would make America richer.
Did the store stop passing higher import costs onto you? Did your grocery cart suddenly get cheaper? Did appliances, building materials, clothing, or household goods become more affordable?
They promised to protect working people.
Did the federal minimum wage go up? Did paid family leave become a national guarantee? Did paid sick leave become a right? Did childcare become affordable?
They told you billionaires and corporations needed fewer regulations and a friendlier government.
Did your boss share those savings with you?
Did your paycheck suddenly match the cost of living?
Did corporations stop laying people off while executives collected enormous compensation packages?
They told you climate regulations were the problem.
Did your homeowners insurance get cheaper?
Did your electric bill disappear?
Did hurricanes, floods, wildfires, droughts, and extreme heat stop costing American families billions?
They told you environmental regulations were unnecessary government interference.
Did your drinking water get cleaner?
Did your air get cleaner?
Did your food become safer?
Or did corporations simply get fewer rules standing between their profits and your health?
They told you federal workers were the problem and celebrated mass firings and agency cuts.
Did your passport arrive faster?
Did veterans suddenly get better service?
Did Social Security become easier to navigate?
Did disaster assistance become faster?
Did government magically become more efficient after getting rid of the people who actually do the work?
They told you the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was government overreach.

Did overdraft fees disappear?
Did debt collectors become nicer?
Did banks suddenly decide to stop squeezing customers?
They promised to protect Social Security and Medicare.
Did seniors get a major increase in benefits?
Did prescription drugs suddenly become affordable?
Did Medicare start covering dental, vision, and hearing for everyone?
Did retirees stop worrying about whether their fixed income would cover rent, groceries, utilities, and medicine?
They promised “law and order.”
Did mass shootings stop?
Did your children become safer at school?
Did domestic violence disappear?
Did rape kits suddenly stop sitting untested?
Or did “law and order” mostly become a slogan used against whichever group they wanted you angry at?
They promised government transparency.
So why do Americans STILL have to demand answers about the Epstein files?
Why do taxpayers have to fight to find out what their own government is doing with THEIR money?
Why is transparency treated like some favor politicians generously give us instead of the bare minimum we should expect from people whose salaries WE PAY?
They told you voter fraud was everywhere and passed more voting restrictions.

The thought of a year wasted in prison terrifies most sane people.

It was more of a minor adjustment than a a complete U turn, but it had to happen. Our leaders need to make things tough, he said. Start a global recession or world war. Who wouldn't want that?
