Improving computer performance suggestions
Aug 10th, 2026 at 3:14pm

For the last week, my computer has been very sluggish in terms of performance. Whilst my Kaspersky program has helped clear up much of the problems, I am still having trouble with the slowness of the programs loading, or surfing the internet is a bit of an issue.

Does anyone have some tips on how to improve the functionality of my computer? Delaying/stopping programs from starting up has helped. I do the defragging regularly. And updating the computer is a rare occasion.

Spend $500 on a Chromebook.

You won't be disappointed.

My video card has twice the ram his PC does and I bet he is using the CPU internal iGPU which also needs ram.

The shops that market Win11 computers with 8 Gig of RAM
are just trying to beat a price point when they know 8 Gig is not good enough.
RAM is super expensive now owing to Data centers and AI apps eating it up
creating high demand that can't be filled.
