Are you using a proper modern SSD drive or
do you have an old hard disk drive for the main storage?

( I have a 0.5 Terra Byte SSD and a   1.8 Terra Byte hard disk for back up)

I use a "computer". I do not care what type of computer I use. All I know is that the computer was running very well when I first got it. It ran well when I was loading computer programs onto the system. And the computer is only running rough in the last few months.

I am just going to use a troubleshooter I find on the internet to determine how to properly remedy computer problems.

The HDD is not the problem. I probably have a good 900 GB of storage available. It is the high RAM usage that is the problem. Switching from tab to tab takes quite a while. Some programs take 5 minutes to load. And trying to get something to work is almost impossible, unless you Advanced System Care scan and reboot the computer.

OK - here's a possible fix from a computer friend of mine:

Update your advanced system care to the pro version and then install:

iobit uninstaller - including the software updater,
driver booster,
ccleaner and
super antispyware,
do a Windows update too.

I did this to someone's computer (an oldy with no money) with similar issues.
Jumped on eBay and got a used 8gb GPU for $50, and another 8gb stick of RAM for $50.

Turned it from a lagbox into a snappy PC.

A RAM upgrade is good - plug in as much as you can into the motherboard.

The PC I fixed was using onboard graphics, so RAM + a GPU was a huge speed upgrade.

On old computers yes - but on the latest motherboards it's all integrated
with the CPU having 8 or more cores and dedicated video instructions,
it can handle it easily -
you don't need a video card unless you're doing advanced gaming.

The iGPU uses system ram, a discrete video card uses it's own and frees that ram, they are also faster as they use vram designed for graphics and free the cpu <-> ddr ram bus.

I actually have all of those programs on my computer. I regularly use them. And the Windows is up to date. I think I will do a full scan with my Kaspersky, letting it run all night. That seemed to work last time.

As a matter of fact, once I get this house organised and cleaned, I might go and open up my old computer and retrieve that 8 Gig RAM and slot it into this computer. That would double the RAM I have. My last computer was operating with 12 Gig of RAM and that basically motored. I suppose this computer is getting dusty too, as the computer was sending alerts that the computer was overheating.

Sometimes plugging in RAM from a different manufacturer or
with a different maximum speed won't work -
but you can always try it.

I ran Advanced System Care last night before I went to work. Five hours later, I come home and find the program still running and 99% finished. Decided to let it run its course and I went to bed. Woke up at 6 in the morning to see that the 99% complete was still there. I had to shut that off (restart the computer) and then load up Kaspersky to do a Quick Scan of the computer. Kaspersky took 10 minutes to load.
