Bobby you are quoting Ged Kearny, why don't you quote Gina?.

You're not a union man.   Roll Eyes

Not interested in what Gina actually said then.

Doubting Ged Kearney is like doubting Jesus - it's blasphemy.

What I doubt Bobby is you knowing what you are talking about. I doubt you even know what Gina said.

Google AI:

Gina Rinehart did not say she wanted to pay her own employees $2 a day.
In a 2012 video address for the Sydney Mining Club,
she argued that Australia's high costs and regulations made it uncompetitive against African nations
where miners were willing to work for less than $2 a day,
prompting heavy union and political backlash that she later labeled misconstrued "fake news".

My work is busy tonight ( and it’s not even a full moon) so I will expand on my thoughts tomorrow.

I’m thinking that this ABC “ hate speech “is an outstanding example of the classic classless Aussie Tall Poppy syndrome?

It’s particularly interesting that a woman suggests/threatens sodomy and murder on a fellow woman because she is simply more successful than herself?

That’s a lot for the woke amongst us to explain?!?

Come the revolution eh?

Who will have the money to buy guns and ammunition?

Not a bitter old , jealous, failed comic (what’s her name ) working for the abc.

Oh the woke have a lot to explain after this poor performance of “satire “!

Finally! The ABC has apologised for the disgusting murder "skit" and removed it from all ABC platforms but ... get this:

According to the ABC internal ombudsman ... it did not breach editorial standards.!!!!!!!

WHAT? !!!!!!!  Shocked

Boy, those editorial standards need a massive overhaul.  Angry

"Last week Rinehart was advocating for a cut in the $85 a day rate of the national minimum wage and today she appears to be saying that cut should go down to $2 a day, or Australia won’t be able to compete with the likes of Africa."

....

Google AI tells me that's what Gina said in 2012, except that in 2012 the figure was $26 a day.

So it seems Ged Kearny is assuming Gina's views remain the same today, in terms of the current minimum wage.

In any case Ged is probably right about Gina - she's an out-of-touch Conservative who expects Aussie workers to compete with  3rd world  Africans who are exploited by 1st world financiers.

Deplorable.

Facts  (google AI):

Race Around the World is an Australian documentary competition television series broadcast on the ABC. The 2026 revival is a reboot of the cult-classic 1990s show, following six solo filmmakers traveling to 10 mystery countries over 100 days to produce 10 original short films.

No doubt the abc trying to increase viewership numbers...but things can go wrong; now an out-of-touch billionaire Conservative is trying to fleece taxpayers for  'damages'....

(google AI)

The Response:

While an internal ABC Ombudsman review initially found the clip did not breach standard editorial policies regarding harm and offence, ABC managing director Hugh Marks later apologized, removed the segment from digital platforms, and conceded it fell short of community expectations.

The Creator's Apology:

Contestant Kate McGuinness publicly apologized, stating her work was cartoonish and satirical with no intention to promote real-world violence.

Of course Kate and the ABC - who had no input into her documentary, have reason to be terrified of an out of touch Conservative billionaire who spent millions in a court case to fight her own children.

Deplorable.

Well done Bobby.

Google AI will certainly assist in the demolition of 'fake news'.

I'll bet you saw no problem with those "ABC editorial standards" when:

(Google AI)

"The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) unlawfully sacked temporary radio presenter Antoinette Lattouf in December 2023 after she re-shared a Human Rights Watch post concerning the Israel-Gaza war. The Federal Court later ruled the public broadcaster bowed to pressure from pro-Israel lobbyists and breached the Fair Work Act. "

Gina is the richest person in Oz because her father discovered iron ore in the Pilbara...

Madness.  The resource belongs to Oz, not Gina.

It's time  the governement taxed her so she can retire with (generously) a billion dollars,  then p*ss off and stop parading her ugly ideology assisted by brainless ideologues  like Pauline Hanson.

Those facts need to have a qualifier ...

"While an internal ABC Ombudsman review which took over 2 weeks  initially found the clip did not breach standard editorial policies regarding harm and offence despite talking about aggravated murder, ABC managing director Hugh Marks THREE WEEKS later apologized, removed the segment from digital platforms, and conceded it fell short of community expectations."

And?

Kate said her documentary was satire; and whereas I might have laughed (though I haven't seen it) because I deplore out-of-touch billionaires like Rinehart who want lower minimum wages for workers in a c-o-l crisis, you are getting your knickers in a knot because the relevant ABC editor didn't edit Kate's skit before broadcasting it.

Meawhile we have a homelessness crisis as well as a c-o-l crisis badly affecting mean wage workers, partly because greedy billionaires dont wan't to pay fair taxes.

So I hope Gina can't fleece a cent out of taxpayers if she decides to refuse the apology offered to her.
