Road invasion.
Jun 24th, 2026 at 6:22pm

It’s gone out of control! And today, (was on news tonight too!) I was driving through Croydon and saw cop cars galore, blocking other part of road!
What I saw was a mangled unregistered electric bike.
Apparently rider did something show-off-y (as they all do) and lost control and a car hit him with bike.

He’s in hospital with non serious injuries.

Then as I kept driving on Whitehorse road through Blackburn… zig zagging between lanes, there’s another dweeb on an electric bike standing on pegs with one foot behind on seat. I felt like yelling to go see his mate in Croydon all bingled up.

There’s another one on the busy road I live on … I’ve seen him twice this week, and doing wheel stand.

Inner suburbs have groups of them and kick any cars that nearly accidentally hit them.
Last month there were a dozen of them in Main Street Lilydale doing wheel stands etc.

Why has this become so uncontrollable?
Where are these teens getting money to buy these bikes?
Where are their parents?
Have they insurance?

What road rules have they learned?
Bunch of D-heads  Angry
There are MX tracks the parents can take them to ….

So, is this just a problem in Victoria? Or have other states experienced this madness?

Grin if only their parents or grandparents would advise them of the dangers of becoming temporary Australians.

Pity these teens don’t take their energy to a moto cross track, this would involve parents, or a big licensed brother or uncle taking them.

My son’s gen were all bike mad but we parents would take them to moto cross tracks and that’s where real talent is needed, with knowing gear changes, and wearing safety gear.
These electric bikes have no gear changing. Any pussy could ride it!
If these young bucks think they are so cool … I’d like to see how cool they think they really are in competition on a mx track.

What I’ve seen in news is they gang up and do this road rage against cars that had near misses with them.  One called out “hey this car nearly hit me!”
Time to buy a big ferret scout car me thinks.

No it's happening in every state & territory.

QLD Govt is toughening laws which will also see parents fined for kids on illegal e-bikes & scooters as well as for children being on them under 16 & unsupervised. None are allowed to do anymore than 25kph.

Some e-bikes are actually e-motorbikes & will require licensing & registration.

The thing is that the QLD Police are under resourced to deal with the matter effectively - and the kids know it.

Under 16s are even riding within 150 metres of the Police station on the way to high school.

And primary school kids are riding them to schools in all suburbs around here.

The biggest joke is when I see a father, with helmet on his head, double his daughter on one of those e-scooters at 40kmh downhill on a busy road. No consideration for the life of his daughter.
