Are POHMs just a bunch of weaklings?

The highest temperature of 37.7°C is considered part of a heatwave -- where anything over 28°C is hot weather.

In their defense,  while 37.7 in London feels like 37.7 in Australia, every building in England is designed to capture heat not dissipate it. While I was in London my daughter was in student accommodation in Oxford. No ac, no window, a crap fan and the night time temp was 30.

When in Rome on hot days I used to go on Palatine Hill and stay in the tunnel build in Nero's days.
Roman engineers knew how to use natural ventilation and keep place cool.

That sounds fascinating! I would love to read more memoirs of your experiences TW.

Ostia Antica is well worth a look.

It's about a 45 minute train ride from Rome.

I was very impressed.

I used to spent lots of time there and did some digging of my own when nobody watched  Cool

I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Rome who wants to get out of the city for a day.

It's a pleasant train ride there and the place is amazing (the ancient toilets were an eye-opener).

I used to rent a flat in Ostia less the 2km from the archeological site and often would go for a morning walk there.

Hmmmm…. Maybe lost contact somewhere in China?
It happened to us. In China in 2018 my phone was unable to contact anyone.
2 days and I was spewing! I knew my kids were concerned.
I tried to use the motel’s free wifi but nothing.
At midnight I was so fed up I turned phone off and pulled out sim.
When I put it all back again, I was able to contact kids! It reset!
Effing nuisance!

Back into work, also brought back a nice chunky cold from Italy!  You could say I brought a wog home with me.  Grin Grin Grin

Zero jetlag, we had a 2pm flight from Italy so I managed 8 hours sleep, woke up at about 7am Sydney. Whole day in HK, 11pm flight and got another 4hrs sleep, woke up at 8am Sydney time so was basically adjusted (but tired).
