Good wood
Jun 22nd, 2026 at 4:19pm

Coming home from Brisbane I stopped at an Op Shop to see if they had any useful wood products, often get nice bits of camphor laurel, bowls etc, that can be reworked.
This particular buy was two single beds, circa 1920s, the head boards are cedar and the foot boards are jarrah and they go to the floor, frames are hardwood of some sort and good quality three ply in lieu of springs.
Five very straight grained spacers on each frame.
Total of 48 once used wood screws and 8 bolts…..  $40 the pair.

The better half has placed an order for a small hall stand.

Fortunately I was driving the ute and not the wife’s small car.

It cost me $10 for a block of Red Cedar big enough to carve a rifle stock from back in the 80s. The wood is probably worth more than $40 if it's solid.

WA Jarrah is no longer commercially being sold.
All wood is up in price.

I suggest you turn to crime to get what you want.
Take the 3 main political Parties here. Like Looters running amok, knowing their end is nigh.
