You don't understand the art of political strategy.

There was no political strategy. He had two strategies. Erase the Obama legacy because he hates Obama THAT much. The other strategy was to get rich anyway he can, including buying or selling oil stocks just before he made announcements that directly affected the price of oil. That's it - hate Obama and get rich. That's not political strategy - that's peak malignant narcissism.

And cause a distraction from the Epstein files.
