Yes. Agree.

However, big business doesn't agree and what big business wants, big business always gets these days (seeing as they're the ones pulling the strings of our puppet politicians).

Australia’s current birth rate is 10.8 live births per 1,000 people, with a total fertility rate of 1.5 children per woman based on 2023 data.

Less than replacement.

It's immigration that's driving up population.

“ Can a country put a fixed limit on its population? That is the question Switzerland will be answering on Sunday when voters go the polls to decide on a proposal to cap their population at 10 million.”

Could you ever imagine living in a democracy that allows you to vote on the issue of immigration?

Albo and Angus are turning white and in fear at such a thought!!!

Properly managed immigration could be very good for our country -
bringing in people with skills we need such as in house building
would really add something positive.

Unfortunately successive Govts have made a total mess of it -
mass uncontrolled immigration of millions of 3rd world trash - mostly with no skills -
and poor knowledge of English -
people who don't want to assimilate - multicultural nonsense where they can turn whole suburbs
into miniature versions of their home country.

It's like Basil Fawlty overbooking his hotel -
we don't have enough infrastructure:
housing,
schools,
roads,
trains,
hospitals,
police,
water,
electricity,
gas,
sewage systems

to cater for such an influx.

Cost of living is having a big impact on people being able to afford kids.

My youngest son wants to make a huge dent in his mortgage before having kids he and his wife are both working to pay for their home.

Immigrants on welfare living in taxpayer funded housing can afford kids thanks to hard working Australians.

Not really. Recently months, I was watching a quick news media on the fertility rate of Sydney. Sydney has among the lowest birth rates in Australia. One feature of Sydney is that it is getting close to a non-white majority. And that demographic factor seems to reflect in the reason why there is a low fertility rate in Sydney.

What is the fertility rate of new immigrants. They seem to be in Australia to take on the jobs that were arranged for them before they arrived. Being career minded, the idea of having a family and paying off exhorbitant house prices make the process of reproducing somewhat unlikely.

In 2021, census figures for the Rockhampton region cited the fertility rate to be around 2.7 children per woman. I could only guess that regional, rural and remote communities about Qld would have similar above average birth rates.

Maybe southern states need to start living within their means and just buy what they can afford. Save up for having children. Because the government is going to continue importing your replacements over the decades.

Won't have to worry - lefties can't even define what a woman is ....

they even think biological men can potentially get pregnant.

Yes - most of it unskilled, uneducated & uncivilised.

With a future of generational welfare dependency & crime.

Ohhh yes - and the added benefit that they hate the west, us, and our culture & values.

Good grief you talk some shyte.

The new immigrants are breeding like flies - especially the Muslims.

And no they're not career minded or have jobs arranged for them.

That's more in the realm of Indians - and many who do that are rorting the student visa scheme.

As are Chinese, Malaysians & Vietnamese.

You should get outside of your bubble & Rocky occassionally.
