Australia’s current birth rate is 10.8 live births per 1,000 people, with a total fertility rate of 1.5 children per woman based on 2023 data.
Less than replacement.
It's immigration that's driving up population.
Not really. Recently months, I was watching a quick news media on the fertility rate of Sydney. Sydney has among the lowest birth rates in Australia. One feature of Sydney is that it is getting close to a non-white majority. And that demographic factor seems to reflect in the reason why there is a low fertility rate in Sydney.
What is
the fertility rate of new immigrants. They seem to be in Australia to take on the jobs that were arranged for them before they arrived. Being career minded, the idea of having a family and paying off exhorbitant house prices make the process of reproducing somewhat unlikely.
In 2021, census figures for the Rockhampton region cited the fertility rate to be around 2.7 children per woman. I could only guess that regional, rural and remote communities about Qld would have similar above average birth rates.
Maybe southern states need to start living within their means and just buy what they can afford. Save up for having children. Because the government is going to continue importing your replacements over the decades.
Good grief you talk some shyte.
The new immigrants are breeding like flies - especially the Muslims.
And no they're not career minded or have jobs arranged for them.
That's more in the realm of Indians - and many who do that are rorting the student visa scheme.
As are Chinese, Malaysians & Vietnamese.
You should get outside of your bubble & Rocky occassionally.
