A worker has died after being electrocuted at a building site.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, was working on a scissor lift when it came into contact with overhead power lines on Geelong Road in Laverton North in Melbourne’s west about 2pm on Monday.







Emergency services were called to the site, but the man could not be revived and died at the scene.   Sad

He is yet to be formally identified.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and WorkSafe has been notified,” police said in a statement.

WorkSafe confirmed it is investigating the incident.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Hmm. Was he the operator or was it someone else?  Who failed to "look up"?
