I played Soccer in Mt Druitt as a kid. Any kid who took a dive and cried got his head kicked in by his own team-mates. Even as kids, we had all-in brawls out there in Houso land. West Ham from England came out to tour and the team came out to watch us Housos play and sign autographs as our Shalvey Wanderers uniform was based on theirs. Even our Men's grades had punch ups and leg chops. West Ham couldn't believe how physical we played. No cry babies and divers.
West Ham went back to climb 2 divisions into the premier league. Grin

England defeated Panama 2-0 in their final Group L match of the FIFA World Cup, securing first place in their group and an undefeated group stage run. Second-half goals from Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane secured the victory at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

I did soccer at high school as part of our physical education program. One of the players was in a local league. He took the game fairly seriously. When he called for an offside, the teacher/referee said "we are not playing that kind of rules". So, the smartarse decided to stand behind me in the goal square and await passes to him -- clearly offside. "Hey, it's in the rules". When he scored from a blatant offside position, the teacher clarified that you cannot do that, regardless of how we were not playing offside rules.

Later on, he shoved the teacher during a contest -- the teacher was playing on our side to even up the numbers. Given that the teacher was also the referee, he blew the whistle for some contact. Kid goes "Aww, what's your problem?". Teacher shoves the student and goes "That was my problem". Free kick to the referee. He proceeds to kick the ball out of bounds. But the sneer on the teacher's face was priceless.
