No one and I fu*king mean no one watches "soccer" in America. The ones that do are known as immigrants and we all know how Republicans love the immigrant though it is rather odd a Republican pushed for this corrupt garbage to come onto America's "spacious' shores.

They all do.

I had the misfortune of watching some AFL here in Perth yesterday, and the supposedly tough sporting warriors turned into little babies when someone did so much as step on their feet.

I like the skill involved in some of these sports, but the drama queen displays are a real turn off.

Toughen up, you little snowflakes.

(And the advertising is just so over the top now that it makes it impossible to watch)

I played a game of soccer in my 20s. I recall running back to retrieve a ball that looked like it was going out of bounds. I was looking around to see if there was any opposition looking to win the race for the ball. No one was around. Just before the sideline, I managed to roll my left ankle and fell to the ground. Some of the crowd gave me a bit of abuse, some claiming that I took a dive. I got up fairly quickly, not all that injured and kept walking back to get the ball. As I came back into the field of play, the referee said "Don't even think of asking for a penalty" (or something to that effect). I simply said "I won't" and continued on with the game. After the game, I still received some heckles from people, asking me what happened then. I told them that I had rolled my ankle. And though people accepted that explanation there, there was still some talk that I took a dive. Later, it was proven that I tripped on a hole made from a divot from a dodgy spot kick that someone had taken. Added to that was the fact that the next game, some other player had also tripped in the same spot.

Even when you explain to people what happened, they want to believe some far-fetched accusation of poor sportsmanship.

More than 200 members of the Iranian diaspora gathered outside Los Angeles Stadium on June 7, waving pre-revolutionary Iranian flags and protesting against the Iranian government ahead of Iran's opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup against New Zealand.

Demonstrators said they wanted to draw attention to the situation in Iran and voiced opposition to the country's current leadership. The protest also followed FIFA's reported decision to ban the "Lion and Sun" flag inside the venue.

The rally featured chants, banners, and speeches from Iranian-Americans and other members of the Iranian community.
