Problem is and likely more accurate politically is that the fact is mixing red with green makes a rather ugly muted brown.

More a colour theorist ?

It is a fact that red + Green cannot make teal. It will be a muddy muted Brown or a muted brown gray

To get to teal you need Labor Blue plus Yellow possibly a touch of white. Typically a cool blue and a warm yellow or the opposite a warm blue with a cool yellow.

Zali Steggall is green through and through.  I don't know why she doesn't remove that bit of blue because she is not a conservative.  She has never voted Liberal ... but to win in Warringah which is part Northern Beaches and part North Shore she had to present as conservative because Warringah has always been Liberal. Hence the colour teal.

And yet, embarrassingly for Zali, it was one of her constituents who had to point out that it is not a good look for someone who presents herself as an environmentalist yet still drove around in a huge 4WD gas guzzler and didn't have a single solar panel on her roof.

Considering this I wonder why she almost always opposes any Labor policy and supports a lot of Liberal ecanomic policy ?

Good post.

The increasing insincerity of politics is examplified by the Uniparty and the teals.  Posturing, emotionally korrekt doctors' wives have captured wealthy and ignorant electorates.  Rich, plump, pink, fragrant, zaftig and stupid.

That's how the teals are typically defined: economically conservative, environmentally aware. That's why they so easily win seats in the Liberal party heartland. People are sick of being lied to about climate change etc and treated like morons.

The teals bridge a divide that voters have been looking for for decades: a wait to vote for an environmentally conscious government policy, without also voting for communists.

You know that - or you hope that??

The seven Teal MPs in the House of Representatives have voted with the radical extremist Greens Political Party on Bills between 73 and 81 per cent of the time since being elected in 2022, new figures reveal.

“Many Australians in electorates held by a Teal Party MP would be quite surprised to know that their representative has aligned herself so firmly with the radical, extremist Greens Political Party – who of course are well to the left of even the current Labor Government.

Voting record of      Voted with Greens (%)
CHANEY, Kate      73%
DANIEL, Zoe      81%
RYAN, Monique      78%
SCAMPS, Sophie      80%
SPENDER, Allegra      74%
STEGGALL, Zali      76%
TINK, Kylea      76%

Zali herself says her parliamentary record of voting is ... Liberals 51%, Labor 52% and Greens 54%.  On that alone, she's Greens/Labor.  But having a bit of an each way bet considering she does need to keep the Liberals in her electorate onside. Because Zali knows her constituency is still largely conservative.

However there are many who are totally against her support for Palestinian refugees.  She wants to bring them all in ... yet at the same time she says she deplores anti-semitism.  She's just another useful idiot where the mussos are concerned because anyone who deplores anti-semitism also understands implicitly that bringing in the very same mussos who are dedicated to wiping out the Jews, is not a good move.    Angry

You pretend not to see the "what". Why?

There are only two ways to vote on any given bill. If some completely meaningless statistics is the best criticism of the teals that you can come up with, they must be doing the right thing.

So she consistently votes against the wishes of her extreme right electorate yet the same conservative electorate has voted for her 3 times in a row and cannot wait to make it 4 ??

Do you believe your own posts ?

Exactly. So what is this mysterious "what" you think I am deliberately not seeing? Do you think the "right" decision on any bill, regardless of its actual content, can be determined merely by taking the opposite stance to the Greens?

What if the Greens voted against you jumping off a cliff?

Do you actually think two groups are aligned if they vote against each other about a quarter of the time? Or are you just building mysterious conspiracy theories that involve more arm waving and vague hints than substance?

Do you think the real insight might lie in the 25% of times they vote against each other, and that by ignoring this you are simply remaining wilfully ignorant in the hope that whatever you are afraid of will go away if you pretend it is not there?
