What helps to kill us [individually] ?

What helps to kill us [individually] ?
.....shorten our life ?

i.e.
What factors during our 'life', act against our longevity ?

longevity = = long life.

Just a guess/suggestion......
1/ Bad luck ?
2/ Our own stupidity [e.g. refusing to 'take a hint', which is being offered by the universe] ?
3/ Poor choices ?
4/ Poor choice of lifestyle ?
5/ Poor choice of parents/locale of birth ?

p.s.
I consider myself to be, a lucky individual......in some ways.

A lucky ba st ard.....that i was born in the 1st world,
at a time, when the 1st world was more 'well defined', as being such, than it is now.

It was 1973.

I was a kibbutz volunteer.

It was the time of the Yom Kippur war.

I was driving a MF tractor, dragging a long line of aluminum irrigation pipes, to a new section of the field.

Suddenly there was a terrific loud jet engine roar overhead.

I must admit, i was startled.

A Skyhawk jet, was climbing steeply in front of my tractor.

"What the.....!!"

And then i realised...

The pilot was practicing a strafing run.....and my tractor was a 'tank'.

He was practicing lining my 'tank' up [in his sights], for a strafing run.

The Skyhawk pilot did this 3 more times, then he must have had somewhere else to be.

It was a little exhilarating [being unexpected].....and i was happy to be of some service to that IDF pilot. [smile]
